Okay, so Apple Intelligence is not supported in the EU, I get it regulations...but why TF is Apple shunning users from countries like Slovakia, Czech rep., Poland, Hungary? We never had support even for the old ****** Siri and now they say its going to be the same with the new Siri? When openAI, Google and the opensource guys support these languages? WHY WHY WHY

Nothing is mentioned about how often siri understands words incorrectly, ESPECIALLY pronouns and when that will be improved.

‘Her’ does not sound like ‘them’, among others !!!

Yeah, you should probably rethink this article. The title is, “these apple intelligence features aren’t coming until 2025“, and the article contains everything that is active with Apple Intelligence as of today. Again, you might wanna either delete the article completely or fix it because it’s embarrassing to see a mistake like this on your site

I had this article open and another article (the full Apple Intelligence guide article) open for editing, and I accidentally updated this one with the wrong content about five hours after it was initially published. I've put the original article back. Sorry about that confusion!

What a disaster of an iOS release. April to get the full AI features. I should have kept my 13 Pro Max for another year and get the 17.
I'm in EU and that's is exactly what I'm doing. No reason to update the phone.

Am I going to be able to ask my phone to do things like "Siri, turn off my TV in 10 mins." Siri, turn notifications off for WhatsAPP until 1pm tomorrow" etc?

THIS is the kind of stuff I expect Apple Intelligence to do and it makes sense. If Apple is adding AI to the iPhone, I should be able to ask it about and to do anything on the iPhone and have it do it.

Also, with this update, I don't want to ever hear "This is what I found on the web for [insert siri request here]". This should be gone unless I actually ask it to search on the web for something.
Apple cannot even keep spellchecking working in Xcode. What makes anyone think Apple AI or Siri will ever work correctly. Apple management does not have the stick-to-itiveness to complete anything. If it is not announce-able in the WWDC Keynote it just does not get allocated resources thanks to Cook.

Rome’s collapse happened incrementally and slowly, then all of a sudden very very quickly.

Nice try.

Rome's collapse was due to a handful of factors (Christianity's rise, political changes, societal changes, economic decline, declining acceptance of the emperor, etc).

None of which has anything to do with Apple's increasing market share offering its 1+ billion active and repeat customers purchasing the Apple products they love to use.

Which increasing market share are you referring to?

Both global and in the US.

Regarding lock in...

If Samsung or some other company came up with a demonstrably better set of tech products (phones, computers, tablets, watches, apps/software, etc), infrastructure, support, etc, that somehow improved my life life, I'd switch in a minute, and it wouldn't be a biggie doing that.

Most people have agency in their lives. I certainly do. Do you? Will you be switching?

There's a reason Apple has 1+ billion active and repeat customers.

Yep - it's like going bankrupt

Happens slowly at first ... and then quickly

Apple is not going bankrupt anytime soon, but then again nobody thought Pan-Am would either. And not the best example, airlines are volatile, it there’s enough examples. But Apple is rather lacklustre of late. They’re more Microsoft than Microsoft these days.

Perhaps not. But then again Apple is getting quite big and if it’s to get even bigger and do absolutely everything, like it’s doing now…it might not be a bad analogy. It risks loosing its beloved “underdog” image. And you could argue it’s already picked up some of Gates/Balmer´s worst traits from their worst era.

I’m not a hater….I love my M1 12.9 iPad….but I’m not a fanboi either. My 15Pro is perhaps THE most underwhelming thing I’ve ever bought. And it’s not the hardware that’s the issue. Sure, it’s a bit “dull” looking in 2024, but it is nice. But man does does it feel like it’s getting long in the toot.

And yeah, I know when you invest money and start identifying yourself with an idea, which is what Apple is, you defend it to the hilt. Even when you’re dissatisfied with it yourself. Which is why first slowly, then suddenly is quite apt.

Apple needs to be what they used to be, an innovator. Currently they are just defending the hegemony of self.

best thing about apple intelligence is. certainly chatGPT giving you answers at last something siri couldn't do.

I'm sorry you're not feeling it with Apple products anymore. Perhaps it's time to switch to another tech company and find happiness with tech products that are far more innovative while offering much better performance, utility, and value?

Marketshare has nothing to do with longevity. It is great, until is isn't. History proves that correct by looking at the graveyard of tech companies that though they were un-touchable because they were at the top of the market. Try Compaq, DEC, Nokia, etc.

Well... I guess you could say: Oh no the sky is falling, the sky is falling! For *any* successful company.

I prefer to look at data and customer acceptance.

Let me know when Apple's customer base of 1+ Billion active and repeat customers drops to say, 1 Million customers. We can then have a meaningful discussion.

Absent the above occurring, your view is simply fear mongering. Something that's been going on for years.

It just does not work that way. You should at least study a little history. The decline starts with the company just not paying attention to their customers, the market, or both and thinking they can do no wrong. That describes Apple perfectly today. Apple is all about monetization. And again that works until it doesn't. But, I support your right to keep your head in the sand.

That's simply your *conjecture*, especially the above "Describes Apple perfectly today." I'll continue to look at Apple's 1+ Billion active and repeat customers and other data.

There are a lot of choices for tech products out there. People have agency and can freely go with another tech company if their needs aren't met by Apple.

If I see a decline in that number, I'll *know* (rather than guess) Apple has a problem.

Listen, anyone's entitled to complain about something they use/like without having to change habits 180 degrees, become a vegan and move to a commune. Yeah, Apple is lagging behind the competition, perhaps for the first time. Their philosophy looks like it's becoming more of a hindrance than a forte. On the phone side, they are are definitely not worth the premium they demand (but the luxury feel can't really be quantified). They are again miles ahead on laptops and desktops, by an insane amount. But I'd argue perhaps at the iphones expense.

So disappointed with Apple AI...it's a cartoon!
Indeed. Better off trying Google ImageFX https://labs.google/fx/tools/image-fx

Example from ImageFX :D
