Big fan of Things, but I've switched over to Sorted for the last 3 or 4 months. Its taken over as my lead to do app and calendar app in one go.

With all these apps, its about finding the one that has the right workflow that suits you, and the way that Sorted goes about it I've found perfect for how I go about things.

Its definitely worth a try, I think there's a 14 day trial with it.

They've got a MacOS app in the works which I'm really looking forward to.

Nice topic.

I am in love with this app: Blink by IDEAMP.

It is so simple and nicely crafted.
I can have much more ToDos in one page, and i can highlight the most important ones, with reminders every hour or every day.

I totally reccomend it to people that love simple and minimalist apps. It is on of my favorite iOS' apps and a welcome refresh in the world of ToDo apps.

If Apples Reminders worked like Google's Task (displaying in the calendar) and Apple Calendar did reminders (google's term in the Google Calendar), my search for the perfect setup would be over.

maybe (;

I was on TickTick a few years ago and then ventured over to Fantastical 2. I recently came back to TickTick and was really pleased to see how much it's progressed since I left it. I really love the ability to add tags to my to-do list items which has opened up a whole new way of being productive for me. For instance, I have some tasks tagged as "downtime". If I'm looking for something to do during an open time frame on the weekend, I can pull up that tag list and see what items might fit for me to work on. Fantastical is lacking a lot when it comes to reminders, so I'm happy to be back on TickTick. Not sure about the $28/year premium upgrade though since it offers a lot for free. And as of this week Siri integration was moved from a premium feature to a free feature, which really makes this a good fit for my needs.

I've used all the apps over the last few years. Todoist, 2Do, ClickUp, Things... I'm now using Apple Reminders and have really gotten comfortable with it. I use # tags in the notes part to help search for stuff easily. I create sublists by having the main lists Capitalized & the sublists lower case or use the @ for sublists. I use Notes for my big projects and then share it into Reminders. As for Calendar, if you search Reddit or other sites, you can find Siri Shortcuts that will send Reminders to Calendar. I personally only use Calendar for time tasks (not due time but like appts, etc). On iOS I use the What's Next widget that shows both Calendar & Reminders on the widget...

I use Notes more and more.
Bigger things go always to Notes.
It is an amazing app.

I will try the Blink app that someone suggested.

Notes I use extensivly as well but not for todo’s. Mainly I send websites to read later or to take general notes.
The Google calendar reminder/event/todo is great because I drag and drop tasks/events/reminders when something changes. The Calendar gives a great graphic overview so I can keep on top of things.

I use use MS Exchange (personal) for mail and calendar. Maybe I’ll play around to see if I can similate my Google GSuite workflow.

Also, I use widgets as well but keep it simple.

Would you be so kind as to explain how you perform this sharing ?
Thanks !

EDIT
OK, I did find the sharing to Reminders option on macOS - for some reason it doesn't appear on iOS :-/

It is not available on iOS for some reason. Only on macOS. It's really dumb they never included a share sheet for this on iOS.

I have tried several todo apps over the years, but I have always come back to OmniFocus. Recently, I've had several different ones on my Macs and iOS devices (OmniFocus 3,Todoist, Things 3, Informant, 2Do, Tick-Tick, ToDo). I tried them all and the overall best in my opinion is OmniFocus 3. I just recently deleted Tick-Tick and ToDo from my devices and will probably do the same with Todoist in April when the subscription ends. I love Informant because it is like using a paper planner and it is the only one of the bunch that lets me use the Franklin Planner to prioritize my tasks.

Blink is great.
It is a clean app. It only lacks a dark mode.
I think i just replaced Clear.

I really gotta say I always liked Things, OmniFocus is great as well, but I can't use any of them because they're all single-user apps.

So basically, I'm left with my calendar. None of these apps are open enough to be fed or read via an API, other people can't create tasks for you, you can't see tasks of family members and vice versa. All useless to me since I don't live by myself on an otherwise uninhabited island. :(

Maybe OmniFocus has improved, but Things' staff certainly is barely kicking the can down the road, that's it.

I am still all in on Things. I have not had any desire for something more. The one missing feature that would be nice is a multi-user list. Other than that it is perfect for my needs.

Multi-user on Things can't come soon enough. My #1 feature request by far. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, but at least let two or more people collaborate on task lists and delegation.

Out of curiousity, who's using what these days?
I'm still using TickTick for personal tasks/projects and Due for reminders. I've been using both for years and can't really find a reason to move away from them.

For work I have shifted to mostly Microsoft's To Do (which was born out of Microsoft purchasing Wonderlist). The main upside to it for our workplace is that we are a Microsoft 365 environment, and To Do integrates with Outlook (shows flagged email) and Microsoft Teams and Planner. I can use To Do to view all the things I'm supposed to do whether they are in my own task list, email inbox, or assigned to me from a team I am on (using Planner).

With the new Apple Reminders features like Tags & Smart Lists in iOS/iPadOS 15 & macOS 12, there is now becoming very few reasons to used paid apps if you're 100% in the Apple ecosystem. And sharing works good also...
