The mini LED and M1 processor were the only reasons why I opted for a new iPad and choosing the 12.9.

I may regret the purchase in some respects simply because the iPad is so large. I tried a 12" previously but I preferred the 10.5 but given what I'm paying for a tablet, I might as well get one with a gorgeous screen
the 11" has m1 also right? yeah but a tough choice!!!

Ordered the 12.9 (256GB/WiFi/Space Gray) this morning. Took several tries before it would succesfully go through; I started panicking ?. Ship date gives a range of 5/21-5/28. Also added AppleCare and the black Magic Keyboard, which I was able to pick up at my local Apple Store earlier today.

ETA: Upgrading from a 2018 iPad Pro 11" (also 256GB/WiFi/Space Gray) and Smart Keyboard Folio setup. After realizing that I can everything done in my workflow on the iPad, I wanted the bigger screen. I would actually prefer an even bigger 15-inch screen!

Ahhh.. I figured you would opt for the 12.9 over the 11 inch.. I bet that Apple confirmation about the MK helped resolve picking between the two.

I decided to go for the 1TB model, I think it's overkill... but I'm betting on iPadOS 15 to be incredible.

Ha yeah I just think I would badly miss the bigger sceeen and the MK thing certainly helped a lot. I hope it arrives before the 28th

Damn, broke down and ordered 128 GB 11" Pro to replace my 2020 11", haha. I swore I wasn't going to upgrade, but $150 off (including $100 off coupon) at Costco convinced me and my wife could use an upgrade to her hand me down 10.5" Pro :)

I did the same exact thing except on the 11” 512GB version. I just couldn’t pass up the $150 off. Now I’m second guessing myself as to whether it’s really worth upgrading my 2020 11” model which is already super fast enough for me. I’m just a sucker for the newest tech ??‍♂️.

Me too, but I had someone who could use my 2020 hand me down :) Luckily I don’t need more than 128 GB so it’s little cheaper to play the upgrade game.

I don’t have Discover, but even if I did, I would prefer my Costco Citi card which provides 2 yr extended warranty.

Gotcha, don't have one of those. beginning to feel like warranties are overrated personally, but I liked when discover offered a 2nd year free before they nixed it years ago. Still, never used it.

Anyways did some number crunching, and after Discover Cashback and the $100 off $500 coupon and $50 off list price for it from Costco, that all brings the base 11" M1 iPad Pro down to the $624 before tax.

[ $749.99-$100-(5% of $649.99 is $32.50) ] / 1.(tax rate in my state) = ~ $624

The more I think about it, even though I am a screen nut, maybe an 11" would fit in my workflow better than anything. Wouldn't require an expensive Magic Keyboard to wield, and could still use my 12.9" for docked videos and stuff.

have the mini 5, and 2017 12.9 currently.

I think I might just have to do it

I got the new iPhone 12 Pro Max that I love, I was tempted to get the 12.9 mini LED but decided not to because it will probably make the iPhone 12 Pro screen look like crap so I will probably order the 11”

11” is a nice size. I also have a 1st gen 12.9”, but haven’t really touched it since getting my 2020 11” last year.

I have one and it’s bit cramped, but definitely serviceable. Wish it had function keys, oh well.

I went for the 11" 1TB cellular, pencil and Logitech keyboard with trackpad. I have projects coming up in remote areas of the North Atlantic region that I will sporadically need some good computing power but in as small a footprint as possible.

I have never really needed an iPad to be honest but this new set of projects has me getting one this time around, especially with TB4 and 5G connectivity.

I went with the 12.9”. I knew I wanted the Mini-LED display from the beginning, and I love the bigger size of the 12.9” for consuming content. It was a no brainer for me.

I'm one of those who've been super hyped about new iPP 12.9" with XDR on it, and of course placed an order on day 1 of pre-order with no doubt. I'm upgrading from 2018 iPP 11", btw. The problem is, I do think portability is important and was overlooking it as I was just excited with new tech being introduced at the moment. Would 12.9" be too much for someone who frequently holds iPad for note taking? I'd like to hear what others think.

I have the 2017 12.9 which is around the same weight and mostly use it docked on the desk or resting on my Flippy.

For taking notes while standing/walking around the office, I find the 2019 Air 3 more comfortable.

I actually did try to use the 12.9 for notes while canvassing the office building (old) for where we can install a new server rack but it was pretty awkward to use. Granted, I'm 5'2" with short limbs.
