The positive comments are tempting me to open mine (green) and try it instead of selling or swapping it. [edit: LOL, as if someone —who keeps the accessories for his iPhone X unused and in the box— could ever let go of the band that’s listed on the box.]

This YouTube unboxing also makes it look more appealing to me.

I got the Orange and definitely want the Green one ASAP ;-}

If you are in-between band sizes, go for the larger size. The extra band goes a long way for comfort with the Alpine loop. I must say, after wearing the OB for a week, this AL is not a disappointment at all. Good band when sized properly.

The feeling I get is that if it fits, people really like it. Unfortunately, it’s either too tight or too loose for me so I can’t get a comfortable fit. Maybe if I gain or lose some weight, it might fit me better.

I love mine and curiously coming froma 41 aluminum Watch with braided solo loop I don’t even notice the ultra on my wrist with the alpine loop it is THAT comfortable for me. I have the tiniest wrist imaginable but wear the alpine loop on hook three or four with a size small band. Very very easy to put on and forget it’s there. I love the ocean band too but it is heavier and feeels bulkier given its thickness. For skiing and such it will be the alpine for me and ocean will be for swimming and snorkeling and kayaking etc. when I get the trail loop I will use that for running.

For me it is one of the most comfy watch straps I have ever used. It keeps the watch snug on my wrist without being too tight as it has some flex. Putting it on and off become quick once you have the hang of it.
But the most important thing to me is how light it is. The AWU with Alpine Loop is only 5g heavier than my old AW7 with Sport Band. So no noticeable difference!

IMO Alpine Loop is Apple’s best Watch band yet! It’s so comfortable to wear and stays snug & firm all time! However, it’s not waterproof so that could be a deal breaker for some.

Probably the most uncomfortable band I've tried for the Apple Watch, also I couldn't find a loop that fit just right, one was too tight the next was too loose 🙄

I have the AL that came with the watch.. I ordered L, it fits fine and the lugs are NOT at the underside of the wrist for me - which is the way I like it. Most ppl think the lug should be at the underside of the wrist, but I find that feels odd when putting ones arm down.

The loop and one of the lugs works fine for me, tightness wise, but I can imagine that it might not work for everyone. You’re just going to have to try it.

that said, the regular sport loops work as well and I find them more comfortable and adjustable than the AL. The Alpine loop does have a tiny bit of semi sharp edge to it on the sides, so it can feel a little bit snaggy on the skin.

What I don’t like about the AL is that there is just NO WAY it’s worth $100 to buy it. Apple must be making so much more money on this than the regular loops or standard bands. I know the lugs are probably titanium or some nice alloy, but still $100 for a band like this is a joke.

I ordered a medium Alpine Loop in green with my new Apple Watch Ultra.

It's surprisingly comfortable and lightweight. However, I don't think it will be something I wear very often. After wearing Sport Loops for the past five years, which are even lighter, infinitely adjustable, and quick to slip on and off, it's hard going to anything else for everyday use.

I find the fit of the Alpine Loop isn't as precise. It's certainly acceptable, but it's either ever so slightly too tight or too loose depending on which loop I put the hook through. It can also be tricky putting on or off. I also noticed the hook clangs on my desk when I type if I don't raise my arms enough which can be annoying.

Get the Large, then the G hook will be slightly on the SIDE of the wrist.

I like mine. I like orange, like the style of it, like how it fits. I most likely will not keep it on the watch once my Trail Loop arrives but we will see. I wanted the Trail Loop from the start but the long shipping time pushed me to the Alpine. After wearing the Alpine for a while, I put on an older sport loop from my S6 and noticed the smaller width of the band compared to what came with the Ultra and went back. It felt too narrow. I wear my stainless link with the ultra as well. I've seen the Nomad but not interested in the purchase having the stainless band already and only wearing it a few times a year. Bottom line, the Alpine Loop is fine and I like wearing it but see myself as more of a Trail Loop.

I put it on, on day one, and said eh. Today is the first day I have worn it all day. I am surprised, it is actually comfortable.

I thought it was too stiff when I had it on for the 5 minutes I tried it.

I initially bought my Ultra with the midnight ocean band mostly because it was what was in stock at Best Buy haha. I don't mind the ocean band, it's nice, but I really wanted to try the alpine loop as that is what is in most of the commercials and what not. I've literally only had it for 20 hours now so my opinion might change, but I do feel like it is really comfortable and hardly notice it's on my wrist. I'll be going for a run in the next 30 minutes so I'm curious to see how it does with that as far as staying on and sweating. I could see how finding the right fit might prove difficult for some if in between loops, but for me I lucked out and four down on a medium band fits great for me. I'm loving the green color. It just looks like it's meant to be paired with the titanium watch. The only thing I wish about this band is that there would be loops on the outside as well because I like that utilitarian look. So I love seeing that on the inside of my wrist, but then see the outside of it in a mirror and am like 'oh, yeah...' but yeah I'm liking both bands and now have two options to switch around as I wish.

I find the Alpine Loop very comfortable and first night sleeping with my Ultra was also comfortable. I was worried coming from a Series 7 the Ultra would be heavy and uncomfortable while sleeping. The Ultra is obviously heavier than a Series 7 but feels so much lighter than what I was expecting.

every watch band ever made is like that except the velcro ones

I got my Ultra on release day, September 23rd, and on that day, I came home with both an Ocean band and an Alpine loop. While I really liked the Ocean band, I initially hated the Alpine loop. It was either too loose or too tight and I couldn't get a comfortable fit. Since that time, I have tried to get it to fit better. One thing I tried was to put it on the best loop I could. Even though it felt a little tight, I stuck my finger under the strap and pulled on it a few times. That pulled the folded portion of the strap through the lug a little more, and freed up a tiny bit of space. Now it's more comfortable and I feel I can wear it all day without any issue. The one thing I do like about the Ocean band is that it sheds water. I spend two days a week on the ocean, so that's a big plus for me. The Alpine band retains water when it gets wet. Although it eventually dries, that may or may not be an issue for you. All in all, I rate the Ocean band first, the Alpine band second, and the trail loop a "no show."

I had it. Loved it at first. But throughout the course of the day it just became not that comfortable. Not bad enough to make me want to take the Watch off, just not great like I was looking for. Plus the orange went with my bike so I loved that. Took it off to clean it last night and put the yellow ocean band on temporarily. Haven’t take. It off. Sent the alpine loop back to Apple today. Ocean loop, for me, is more comfortable. I have the yellow one, came with the watch. Will likely end up ordering the black one.

I find the AL to be very comfortable. I have both the ocean band and AL. Both are good on my wrist. My wrist is 185mm. Just my two cents, lol. I have ordered a trail loop, too. Just have to wait a bit for it.

I like mine. Wish I would have chosen the green one: Orange screams "Look at me - I have a new $800 watch!".

I got the orange Alpine band (large) with my Ultra.
I like the style and find it comfortable for day to day use, and I am considering getting it in green as well.
But for running I switch to a sports loop, and have a Trail Loop on order with delivery hopefully early November.
