I had it. Loved it at first. But throughout the course of the day it just became not that comfortable. Not bad enough to make me want to take the Watch off, just not great like I was looking for. Plus the orange went with my bike so I loved that. Took it off to clean it last night and put the yellow ocean band on temporarily. Haven’t take. It off. Sent the alpine loop back to Apple today. Ocean loop, for me, is more comfortable. I have the yellow one, came with the watch. Will likely end up ordering the black one.
Just be aware it is almost more like a navy blue than it is a black

I dont like it, i have a preorder with the trail loop which looks the best for running, but i dont want to pay 100€ for it later, thats why im just gonna wait a little longer for my ultra
Me too. It looks nice but I don’t find it comfortable. I prefe sport band from my series 5 or s leather link.

I just got mine from in today and with the green alpine loop once you find the right fit its super comfortable in my opinion

i lke the alpine loop but i can't get away from the braided solo loop lol feels too comfortable

For the price of the AWU, I want the best band possible. I wanted the Trail Loop but it was backordered minutes after launch (I don't believe it was actually available at launch). I ended up ordering the alpine loop. It was okay, but I didn't like it enough. I am not a huge fan of any adjustable band with the holes or slots, seem to be "in between" where it's either too tight or too lose. I swapped for the Ocean band cause to try it out. It seemed comfortable in the store, and I just didn't like the yellow macaroni looking one. The midnight one looks pretty nice imo. But, it's not breathable. I've only had it a day now, and it leaves marks on my arm more than other bands and is not comfortable. Feels a bit sticky on my skin. Also, the metal part of the ocean band clinks against any table surface. From these two bands I prefer the alpine one now after trying both. However, when I was at the store yesterday they finally had the Trail Loop band to try on. They didn't have any for sale, and the salesperson didn't have any information on whether they have had them for sale or if they would any time soon (in WA state). After trying this trail loop band, I am hoping they will have stock in store in the next week or so, as I would love to swap this ocean band for it. It was a lot softer on the skin than the nylon loop ones, and thinner. Seemed more breathable as well.

Has anyone had the Trail Loop available in the store for purchase, and if so, where are you located?

Dumb question:

How should I clean the orange alpine? Just soap and water?

Mini is already getting dirty.

I tried it when I was buying my ultra, I found it small and difficult to get over my hand and the hook contraption was awkward to fit/adjust. It may be me and it may get more "second nature" with continued use. I found the trail loop absolutely brilliant and the Ocean band to work just as well. If I am honest, at the time, I tried it and thought that whoever had designed the Alpine loop had over thought it.

I ordered the watch with the green Alpine for collection and was worried about the size so tried the M on in the Apple Store before paying. The first couple of times it seemed a bit difficult to fit but after 2 weeks I can almost do it with my eye closed and it fits nicely. The art seems to be adjust it to fit using the loops and then fit the hook to the loop where it stretches slightly but not too much. The strap has a small amount of stretch in it so is comfortable.

Not a dumb question....seems like the color choices, although I like the starlight color alpine band way more than I thought I would, and material of the alpine band will get dirty quickly...after one day, I had to take it off the watch and wash it with dish soap and water. I wore it to play hockey and it got really dirty from my glove rubbing against it which I never noticed before because I always used the black sports band. I'm wearing the blue ocean band now and that stays cleaner but I don't like the traditional clasp, I feel like I will drop it fumbling to get it on and off as I never wore a watch until I got an AW as a Fathers day gift 3 years ago and since then I only wore the sports band.

I spent a lot of time going back and forth whether to go with the Ocean Band or the Alpine Loop. It got to the point where my wife just told me to order one and buy the other separately. That’s what I did. I ordered the Ocean Band watch and ordered the large Alpine Loop separately.

I have 7.5 inch/190mm diameter wrists. For me, the alpine loop is more comfortable. I had never used a sport loop before. I was worried about how quickly the alpine loop would dry after running because a lot of my workouts fall in a tight window in my lunch break or before work. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly the Alpine Loop dries. For my 190mm wrists, the alpine loop fits better. With the large, I am on the 5th slot for a snug fit during workouts. I go to the 6th slot for a looser fit when I am just being comfortable. I also have no issue with putting this band on, making adjustments between the 5th and 6th or taking this band off. I read a lot of people had this issue and it had my nervous. Having it now in hand, I firmly believe these people either picked the wrong size or perhaps they are impatient whiners. On the ocean band, I am on the 4th to the last for a snug fit when I work on. I go to the 3rd to the last for a looser fit.

I love the Alpine Loop a lot. Just a hair more than the Ocean Band. I really think I will only use the Ocean Band when I am going to engage in an exercise where I know I’ll get tremendously sweaty. But for day to day, I’m going to keep the alpine on.

Sounds like you have a similar size wrist to me as I use 4th from last hole on the Ocean band.
Have been put off getting the Alpine band due to having big hands and worry I may clatter the clasp on the watch when putting on/taking off. I'll try one next time I'm near an Apple store.

Thankfully, I read about that issue prior to getting my Alpine Loop. I am just careful when I take it out. I don't pull really hard when I am taking it off. Like I said, I never had a woven nylon band before so it is actually surprising how comfortable and light this Alpine Loop. It makes me want to get the trail loop as well.
