I wasn't sure what to expect from the iPhone 6 LCD 720P-sh screen, especially compared to my S5.

Prognosis is the iPhone 6 screen is pretty damn good.

The contrast is probably the best I've seen on LCD display, color saturation is just right, and display leans toward the cool side, which I prefer. Black levels are not in AMOLED class (nothing is), but black is pretty close to what it is intended to be.

Fuzzy? There is nothing fuzzy about it, and brightness levels smash my S5, even with auto-adjust reserve boost in sunlight. It isn't even close.

I'm also impressed with the display on the 6. I had a G2 then an M8 so I wasn't sure how the display on the 6 would compare, but it looks pretty good to my eyes.

You must have bad eyes if u need nothing less than a 1080p screen lol.

Actually its the contrary. I can see the difference therefore my eyes are better than the people that don't see the difference.

I've tried different brightness levels and really it doesn't help at all.
When I zoom into texts it's very noticeable.

My mistake is going from the S5 to the 6.

On a 5 inch screen I'm sure it's a life or death situation between 720p and 1080p.

Nice review but don't agree about the camera. We had a kids party yesterday and have been preparing photos for print and the iPhone's look crisper and the colours seem truer. I know some reviews say the opposite but I can't see it myself. I also dislike the confusing layout of the camera interface on the GS5. Burst mode on the iPhone 6 is useful and more reliable than on the Samsung. Just my observations, no offence intended :)

Agree, after having a S5 and now a 6 plus the camera difference is chalk and cheese. Here you go :)

Being with a Note 3 and OPO the last couple years I am supposed to get my 6+ delivered and back to iOS for the first time since a IP4.

Every other product I own is Apple so going back should be a great inclusion back into the system.

Android served me fairly well minus KitKat on my Note 3, OPO was an amazing device but I am interested in what the 6+ has to offer me.

Would love to know your thoughts after a week of use on the IP6+.
I was in a similar situation as you and am going back to Android as soon as the Note 4 comes out.

I will definitely report back as I am interested as well and looking to make a quick decision.

I dont see going back to a Note line just because I cant stand TW from my past experiences as an OS but may look back into the OPO as I really enjoyed that phone.

As I have stated around here. I love iOS but Android hardware has always been better for my liking in the past screen wise, battery power, and expandable hardware options like replaceable batteries and SD cards.

I'm on the same boat as you two; I have OPO and iPhone 6+.

So, I'm on my 14th day with iP6+ and I've never been so unsure how I feel about a device. Aside from huge bezels, I do like the design. But man, there's not much to say about iOS. I hate that I'm stuck using everything Apple instead of having choices. However, what holds me back is iMessage and Facetime; nothing like it on Android... Well, maybe Skype or Hangout but then you have to convince your friends and family to have those apps as well.

Anyways, I have a decision to make before the day is over and I'm torn on what I'm going to do.

Stay tuned. ;)

Edit: Leo Laporte said it best in his weekly show; with iOS, you have to launch apps to do anything but with Android, home widgets are more functional.

ive never cared about the whole bezel debate.

it is a black phone in my case and could care less unless they are absolutely huge which they are not. Overstated IMO.

I love the functionality of apps on iOS as they just seem to work better than any OS I have ever used before including WP.

I was never a big widget fan either so some of those things dont apply to me.

I am worried about wifi issues being reported on the 6+, ugly textures of overscaling due to new phone size, and other things with the bigger model that i hope they clean up soon.

Agreed.....I like the app notifications better on IOS. But hate the navigation in apps in IOS. Love the back button on Android phones.

UPDATE:

One thing I wanted to add to this discussion is that my previous comment about the screen resolution and text is that I found that my issue is mainly with the Chrome browser. The text size cannot be adjusted and when you zoom in, the text is fuzzy. On Chrome for Android, I don't have this issue. I hope Google can fix this issue in the near future.

I've since started using Safari and it is much better and the text is more sharper but it still does not compare to a 1080p screen but I can live with it for now.
The reader function is hit or miss depending on the website but a nice option when it works well.

Whats the deal with so many iPhone 6 cases, having a circle cutout in the rear to show off the Apple logo

That looks so tacky, and childish. Why would you want a hole in your case, to scream out load that you do indeed have an Apple iPhone ?

Maybe chrome hasn't been optimized for the iPhone 6?

OP's opinion on the iPhone 6's CAMERA seems very HONEST.

I see other sites praising it and proclaiming it the best camera found on a smartphone. But these reviewers probably only use iPhones as their camera. Perhaps the pictures look great because of the screen. I remember many praising the iPhone 4's camera and looking back, the lens flare and yellowish tint is horrible. When I uploaded them onto the laptop, the photos were only comparable to the Nexus One!

Michael Fisher from PocketNow gave a good review on the iPhone 6 but wasn't impressed by the camera either. Too much noise. HDR and low light aren't that special. And very little settings options. And he is a Nokia Lumia 1020/Moto X (2013) user who is very detailed and honest with photo quality on every smartphone he reviews.

Many iPhone 6 owners make a big deal with CAMERA and BATTERY when phones like Lumia 1020 (of last year) and Xperia Z3 Compact have surpassed iPhones in those areas already.

I'm no expert but the camera isn't bad. Now, is there better? Perhaps. But it's up there with my OPO when it comes to photographs; with giving my OPO a slight advantage only cause of the higher megapixels.

In battery, iPhone 6+ is up there with my OPO, both giving me more than a day reaching into almost two days without a charge.

I haven't compared it to a GS5, but my iPhone 6 takes pictures just as good or better than the LG G2 and M8 I have previously. For me the battery life is better also where I work and in my home, especially when the phone isn't being used. I'm not going to say the 6 is the best phone on the market, but I'm pretty pleased with it.

I am loving the phone on the 6+.

I love how fast it snaps the picture after coming from a Note 3 which took a while to snap sometimes.

I have only had it a couple days and will probably tack on here as I know others dont care about an Android person going to IP6+ but wanted to give my thoughts for anyone that may be considering.
