I love my 4 gig and it meets my needs. I have 370 songs and three 1 hour 15 min music videos.

I have 150 mb left for software updates and can easily remove a playlist for more storage should i need it.

I love it and I just wish people could understand that 4 gig is not a joke and for some people its enough.

I keep reading these posts about "better resale for the 8 gig"

I don't know about you, but I do not buy things and think about reselling them as one my factors for purchasing.

Others say that we are are a "serious disadvantage" for software updates. Dude the software updates are not going to take up the whole phone as someone kindly pointed out to me in another thread.

In conclusion I feel that the 4 gig is still a nice phone and I have NO REMORSE of getting it.

Anyone else with me or am I the only happy 4 gig owner?

I have an 8, but yes, I agree that the 4-Gig bashing is annoying. Not everyone needs 8 Gigs of space. I watch a lot of Video, so I wanted it. Some people don't need it. Currently we have two iPhones in the family (both 8 Gig), but the next one will be 4 since that person only needs some music and pictures. It's about what good for that person. At least Apple gave people a choice. Would it have been nice if it was a choice between 8 and 16 gig, yes, but it wasn't.

i have a 4 gig and i only used half. i have some of my favorite playlists and a few episodes of the office and like 40 photos. mind you i have a 16gb itunes library but i don't need most of that.

I'm with ya. 4GB iPhone owners unite! :D

I have kinda thought about "oh man I wonder if I shoulda gotten the 8GB" a little bit, but, the bottom line is that my iTunes library is about 80GB total, so the difference between 4GB and 8GB really is not that much to me. Not to mention do I want to use up my phone battery watching 3-4 movies instead of 1-2 (for example)?

I bought a 4gb because they didnt have the 8gb. Im glad i did since i only use 25% of the space. Just gives me more money to send through itunes

Sounds to me like you're trying to justify your purchase to yourself. ;) :p

But hey, if that makes you feel better, have at it. :D

why would anyone "bash" a 4 gig iphone?

You just put less content on it..woop dee doo, eveything else is the same.

I have about 2 gigs free now on my 8 gb phone, with tons of music and photos I will probably never even look at on there.

I could easily edit down my stuff to 4 but I figured for $100 why not get the max available.

Silly, just ignore it and enjoy your phone.

Im dying to get an iPhone..and It'll be a 4gig.

I alreayd have a video ipod...it goes everywhere with me...its got like 40 gigs of music, and a bunch of movies...done and done....

I can see having an iPhone, and putting a playlist or two on ( also i hear the syncing is a bit annoying ) just so i can try the iPod out on it...and maybe a movie or two ( ripped myself so they are around 500 megs )

But I want the phone and the e-mail and the internet ...thats what this thing does so well....

so 4 Gigs is a better deal for me.

especially since i'll be FINALLY upgrading to 10.4 ( from 10.3.9 ) ...was hoping to skip a release...but oh well.... lol

I know three different people who got the 4G because that was plenty for them. I don't see anything wrong with that. You get what you need.

8GB is way too little for me, that's why i got the 4GB. I own a 60gb iPod... makes sense doesn't it?

Until they come out with a 60-80GB iPhone that's when I will throw away my iPod... till' then no thanks to 8GB or 16GB. :p

Seriously, what they heck do you do that you need to carry 60-80 gigs of storage around with you?

I bought a 4gb and 3 days later returned it for a 8gb.
I realized that 4gb was way too little... I just couldnt handle it being on my mind all the time. For 100$ you get twice the storage... It's a no brainer...

Because I am into photography I bought the 8 GB so that I'll have plenty of room on my iPhone for both my (favorite/best) photos and my music from iTunes..... Otherwise I would have gone with the 4 GB. I don't see why people are bashing the 4 GB...well, just ignore them! Definitely if you've also got an iPod it's easy enough to modify the choices in iTunes so that you don't synchronize all of your music into the iPhone if it's going to be more than the iPhone's capacity.... Use the iPod, use the iPhone....balance things out.

That said, financially it does seem to be a better deal to buy an 8 GB iPhone for $600, just $100 over the price of the 4 GB iPhone.....

with 80 gigs of music and another 40-50 worth of video, what is the point in spending 100 dollars more on an 8 gig when it will give me 5% more of my library. go big or go home.

I have 30 albums on my iPhone right now, they were easy to pick as they are 30 of my favorite albums, anything more and it would be too much of a hassle to decide what albums to put on there.

needless to say 4 GB is more than enough for me and I am incredibly content with my purchase.

It's a 500 dollar PHONE. What kind of 'tard would spend ANOTHER $100 for a measly 4GB more space? It was crazy to spend $500 in the first place.

And why would you need to listen to music so often. Give your ears and head a break. Listen to nothing. Listen to the breeze or have a conversation with somebody for crying out loud. How many movies must you watch? Stop playing with your toys and enjoy the world around you. It might not be here much longer at the rate we consume things... ;) Gotta have our $600 phones.

Yeah, I got one (4GB) and it has music and movies on it too... but I never get a chance to watch any of the movies or listen to the music. I have an iPod in my car and the rest of my time is spent working and with family/friends.

It's nice to check my email, get directions and check the weather. It makes having a phone fun but remember, it is still just a phone. I can think of a lot more fun/better things to do with that $100.

:D

I also realized that $100 more for an extra 4GB isn't worth it... I'll be waiting for a 40gb (atleast) iPhone in the future. Until then I'm extremely happy with my 4gb iPhone. :)

I find it funny how people with the 4GB version only seem happy about it when they convince themselves by posting about it. You can afford 500, you can afford 600. nuff said.

i thought about getting a 4 gb iphone...for all of two minutes. while i really have nothing against it, i figured i'd have no problems filling my 8 gb model. i just don't want to deal with managing what goes on there and what doesn't. i want to keep a set amount of music (right now, 900 songs) and have a couple movies and tv shows with a little room to spare. again, i have nothing against the 4 gb model, and i'm all for the people who went out and got one; it's just not for me.

ive been waiting for this thread!! i too am a 4GB iphone owner... who also has a 60GB ipod. I got the 4GB because it was the only one left.. i probably would have gotten an 8GB but im glad i got the 4. It serves me well.. I dont really plan on putting videos as I didnt put any videos on my 60GB ipod. i just have been filling it up with my favorite tunes to listen to on the go. so yes .. one week later i am happy with my purchase .. so just shake the haters off  .

No videos? Come on man, that 3.5 inch screen is a waste as a cover art mirror.

Who said I couldn't afford $600? I just thought it wasn't worth it, that's all. If there was an 60gb iPhone for $1000 i would've gotten that instead... what does that tell you?

Dude, thats the same thing as saying you wont get a 30GB iPod because it isnt 100GB. Whats wrong with getting the best of something you're investing so much in, especially if you can afford it.

agreed.

I only bought the 8GB cause I figured I might want space for my small (1.6GB) library to grow. Right now I have 3.78GB free, and only because of my 2hr movie (unnecessary)and photos (debatable). The 4GB iPhone is just as capable as the 8GB and is more than enough for some. No bashing is needed.

EDIT: And for some people, like myself, it is a stretch to get an iphone; being that I could only afford a 4GB but a last minute craigslist sale gave me my extra $100 or so. If you own any iPhone it already gives the status symbol and it is the best, most capable smart-phone around, no matter what size!
