Case or no Case on the new iPhone?

Never. I can’t stand cases or screen protectors.

Just get AppleCare if you’re worried about it. Then use the phone the way it was built to be used, in all of its sleek and beautiful glory.

I used to agree. Right up until the current design (iPhone 6). The phones are too thin and the materials too smooth. Plus the round edges complete the bar of soap handling Apple is apparently going for. They slip out of the hand so easily that they are not comfortable to use without a case. Plus the bump on the X means it won't sit flat on a table without a screen. To be honest, it is almost like they have designed them with the intention of people using a case.

I have used the Apple leather cases since the 6. They are fantastic and in my opinion, make the phone more usable.

A case for me definitely, though a slim one is sufficient for my usage. And for the first time I’m putting on a screen protector. I don’t usually put one on for my previous phones. I do get micro scratches over time but you can really see it unless under bright sunlight. But the XS max screen is just gorgeous that it will be a terrible shame if something accidental were to happen. And plus it’s a very very expensive phone.

I love clear cases but get annoyed when dust and debris get stuck inside between the case and phone. Is it a matter of just removing the case cleaning it regularly to keep it looking good?

Yes. I've learned to tolerate a spec or two under the case, but an occasional removal and wiping will keep it looking good.

I haven't used a case in years and haven't had any issues. I can't claim my phones are pristine when I sell them but the slightly lower resale cost is well with the price.

I've recently switched to Apple's yearly upgrade program so even that doesn't matter any more plus I have insurance so if the worst does happen and I get major damage from a drop it won't be a big deal.

My wife scratched the heck out of 8+ screen from diamond earrings. She want's a screen protector for her new Xs Max, but I am resisting and instead say go Air Pods or use the excellent speaker phone. I can't see screen protectors working with beveled edges- you end up with that protector edge catching on everything.

I was initially on the fence about going naked but there is absolutely NO WAY that is going to happen. I feel like if I drop this thing it will shatter into 1249.00+tax pieces lol

Naked 99% of the time. When "out drinking" I will try to remember to put a case on. But for all of you with a slim case, why? A slim case will most likely not protect the phone from a fall, at most from scratches. Or is it just me? When I see someone with a slim case I always think it´s a perfect way of ruining the feeling of the iPhone and with minimal protection.

The max is huge with a case lol.. it’s going to take a while. Coming from an X. Before the X all I had was plus phones

Partially naked (screen protector is a must for me) but in a leather sleeve for the first few months to enjoy it and then it'll switch to a full coverage leather case so I can not worry too much.

Thing thing is beautiful without a case... I have speck grip case that I put on it. I actually don't mind it... Even though I prefer the Apple leather or silicone case, the speck one is pretty attractive and since I've had speck before, it's a great brand.

Only thing is, I am used to going case less on my iPhones. My 7 only had a case for a breif period of time before I ditched it. My 6s Plus had a case but I hated how bulky they were. My 6 had a case but I eventually ditched that too and my 4s and 5s never had cases.

The price tag is really the only thing holding me back. If it was a $750 phone, id probably without a doubt go classless. But with me spending nearly $1500 on it, I think even the basic speck case or apple case would do.

So... What do you guys think? Are you going caseless or are you going to protect the phone?

I have a Gold Max and I use a clear ultra thin case from, Totallee.

I was going to go naked with my max, but was just (ironically) watching a video showing how well it stands up to drops and notice the steel surround already has a small chip out of it.
It’s tiny, but just above the power button and on the edge with the glass so when you’re using the phone the light reflects off it making it really noticeable. No idea how it happened as it hasn’t even been in a pocket yet! :(

I used one of these on my 8 and it was literally immaculate when I traded it in, even after loads of drops.

It’s a shame as this thing is beautiful, but if this happens after one day of being ridiculously careful, I’d rather have the piece of mind.

Depends on the individual, I hardly ever dropped any iPhone I have owned. Most drops are from people trying to do multiple things at a time. When I am using my iPhone that is exactly what I am doing, just using my iPhone.

I was going to go caseless as I have with all my phones but I decided on an apple leather case and AppleCare +. Things way too slippery and expensive

I have a very stealth looking black TPU case. Thin to prevent minor bumps and scratches but enough grip to help avoid drops. I had ordered the black leather Apple case but returned it today in favor of this slim and light case.

Black Otter Box, Defender Series, with Armor Edge protective glass for screen. I really like it.

I’d just get something like a Caudabe Sheath and call it a day. Thin but good with drops. Should have you covered. The Speck cases are OK, but bulk up the phone too much. That might be fine for the XS, but not the Max.

I’m using a black apple leather case. I had a slim one on my X but with the Max I’m super worried it’s going to slip and drop out of my hand.
