yea it is a little pricey, i mean 99.95 euros is about 148 dollars, but wasn't this supposed to come out in october? Also, it isn't in the US apple store yet either

its 100 pounds - thats around 165 USD

Price aside, this is awesome. Finally, it's here. I am eager to read reviews of it, written by other Macrumors members.

As far as price, I agree it's overpriced. I expect that as time goes on, TomTom will reduce the price. If they do not reduce the price, not many people will buy it. We already have a GPS built into our phones; all we need is a holder/doc with a built in car charger ($19.99 generic will work just fine).

So what happens to people who've already bought the Tom Tom app? Do they get the dock for cheaper?

Well, at least it says you get the TomTom app with the car kit. I wonder if they'll have a version without the app for cheaper or if it will just be the bundle.

so for a total 250 dollars for a nav system. no thanks! I got the tomtom app split three ways with a friend and a sister for 33.33 each. if I wanted to spend 100 on navigation, id buy a stand alone.
edit: Ok i'm confused. does the dock price come with the app (like a rebate or an itunes card) or not? I doubt that it comes with the app.

The kit does include the app according to the page, look under the "Did you notice?" bolded text on the Apple Store link.

TomTom just seems like it's making mistakes with every turn. This dock should be no more then $50 US if you already own the software. We'll see how this pans out.

Looking forward to this arriving on the Australian store now, despite the slightly high price tag, especially if it comes with the app. I wonder how that works, I didn't realise you could sell apps through any other place but the app store.

looks like it does everything i want, but i doubt my phone will fit in with the case on. it looks like it isn't adjustable at all. thats super inconvenient!

seems like they have to sell the car kit separately for at max £40 to those who have already bought the app already... otherwise there is going to be a mass onslaught :D

It says you get the App with the dock, however it does not say if you also get the map(s) as well... Of course the app is pretty much useless without the maps :) Perhaps soon an update is released which allows in-app purchases of map content? Or is that feature already in there?

Did you notice?

You get both the TomTom navigation app for your iPhone 3GS or 3G and the docking kit to hold your iPhone securely in place on your dashboard or windscreen.

I thought this kit was supposed to make it possible to use the app with teh iPod touch, using its own GPS reciever. There is no mention of iPod compatibility in the blurb on the Apple store.

I wonder how technically you get the app with the cradle...

Is it on disk? Is it Ad Hoc? Is it from the AppStore? And if it's from the AppStore, how do you download it for free? (promo code are valid only with US accounts...)

Any thoughts?
