If it blocks a pixel of two, you're only going to notice on the camera border "L"s. It's really an overblown issue.

Regarding install, even if you intend to take the apple sticker off and install right away, I would still wipe the phone to remove any possible residue from manufacturing. I then cover the screen in painters tape, remove and place the tray on immediately. I also do it in a bathroom after letting it steam a bit and I use latex gloves to keep my hand oils off. An extra large microfiber cloth also helps to clean the screen after using the included wet wipe or isopropyl alcohol wipe to remove any streaks.

Personally, I think I want to check that screen is OK with no marks or dead pixels before I install the protector.

So you're fine with pixels being blocked and therefore unusable but not pixels being dead and therefore unusable?
I'd prefer neither, but dead is a defect that can get worse and will often be visible. Blocked is not something you actually see. Very different.

Welp, Amazon couldn't get their act together and sent me the wrong size ESR Armorite screen protector (the one without the painted black borders) three times over the last four days... and the UPS guy just handed me my phone, so I guess I'll be opening and attempting the TORRAS here in a moment. Sucks, I was going to return it because others have said the ESR fits better.

The WSKEN (here) and the FloLab (here) both cover the vertical portion of the Ls on the corners of the camera. I will say from my initial reaction, the FloLab's oleophobic performance seems to be better on this one than the one I used on my 15PM device, and actually better than the WSKEN I applied initially, but both protector's black borders are covering portions of the screen basically all the way around.

I have the orange tray and can report later. You all have the problems with the transparent tray, right?

Orange Tray here.
iPhone 16 Pro Max, these Torras screen protectors are covering the screen worse than last year…

Looks like it’s time to get Belkin and forget about this bs

Does anyone have the Belkin one from Apple put on yet? I am thinking of going over there and getting it done, since I accidentally ordered an iPhone 15 Pro Max screen protector somehow and don't want to wait for Amazon to ship it out.

Okay, reporting back. Transparent tray TORRAS. Fit is pretty good, maybe one pixel overlap on the right side, but it's difficult to say due to parallax—the painted black edge is in the middle of the glass laminate, so it sits off the screen by a fraction of a millimeter. I can see all four "L"s in the camera app if I tilt the phone just slightly, or 90-95% of each of them staring dead on.

I don't think it's a manufacturing defect, I think it just comes down to manufacturing tolerances in the applicator tray not centering the screen protector with scientific precision. It's the same thing I experienced with the painted "3D Edge" screen protectors on my iPhone X, perhaps better. I'm happy with it.

I installed my Torras, and I’m happy with it. But good thing they included two of them, I messed up getting the bottom of the iPhone in the frame and had to redo it lol. And the warranty doesn’t cover installation error.

Also, I pressed too heard with the squeegee and got a tiny scratch in the screen protector. Bleh

I got my Hoda Sapphire today and it is terrible. Even it was expensive I removed it again after 1h. I am in contact with their support.

I also tried WSKEN and Torras (orange Tray) and all of those are horrible too. In one of my favourite app (Due) I can`t even see the colored line on the left side of the screen.

I ended up using the ESR Amorite. It is not perfect but the best option for me at the moment. Let`s see how long it will take until they fix this.

Did anyone tried the Spigen Ez yet?

Clear for me. Both sides are cut ever so slightly. I can see the L's in camera, but the edges are slightly cut. Bummer :(

This is my exact experience as well. Thanks for explaining it so well

Mine appears to be exactly centered, but is cutting off the camera Ls on both sides ever so slightly— almost unnoticeable due to parallax as mentioned earlier. Gonna see if it bothers me. I wish could test the corners and top and bottom.

Is anyone having touch issues with the Torras? I feel like i have had to touch areas multiple times to get it to register occasionally. But could also be the phone indexing and such given its new

With the new clear tray, when you took your off, did you still have the clear film to peel off like the older orange versions did? My tray was tough to get off and it seems to pull that plastic film off with it. It left marks on the titanium that I thought were scratches but seemed of buff off but not easily.

The first one I got aligned perfectly but I found a small scratch on it. So I went to use the other one but I must not have put it in the tray correctly because it was way off. So I had to order another set.

Anyone else have issues with that clear film or the tray being hard to remove.... are you supposed to pull it from the top?

Yes mine stayed on as well. I read somewhere that the clear tray ones were the latest ones.

Your film stayed on or the tray? My film peeled off when I removed the tray...which was tough to get off. I am trying to figured out how to remove the tray so the film stays on the screen protector next time I install

So I checked it right now again... and on the left site when I have camera app open the L is definitely covered at least the lines on the site.

BUT here it the thing: it's probably my own fault, must have done something wrong. Because I noticed now after taking a closer look at my phone that the screen protector is not in the middle and for some reason I managed to get it a bit more to the right site... so its not their fault - it's mine. lol 😂

Went with the basic ESR clear this year, and i'm quite satisfied with it. It has decent coverage, although it sits 1mm more upwards than i'd like but it still extends into the bottom bezel.
And since its clear/borderless it doesn't block out any pixels.
The rainbow edges are very mild on mine, and i didn't even notice until i read the forums. I don't view my phone at extreme angles.

I used Torras last year on my 15Pro and it always bugged me because i felt it subtly covered some pixels.

Saying that, i think the Torras protector is the superior product in terms of overall quality. The oleophobic coating lasts longer and its more resistant to scratches.
The black borders also facilitate easy finger swiping (less of an issue if you use a case).

However, if i keep my 16, i'll be sticking with ESR, because i value transparent coverage above anything else.

I think the new thin bezels have compromised the tolerance levels of black border protectors. Meaning majority now risk eating into screen estate.
