I am having the same problem as santiz described it. I got stucked on the apple logo for hours with the background light on. I might be overreacting, but i can't even shut it down now.

Have you tried holding down the Home button + Sleep Button for 10(ish) seconds? Does it restart?

It does shut down after doing what you suggested, but after restarting it, it still can't get past the apple logo. Any idea?

Thanks for your help..

Thanks, that was very insightful and led me to find out that you could force a restore this way: "Hold the sleep and home button until your ipod turns off. Keep holding them until the apple logo appears, then release the sleep button, but keep holding the home button. This will force a restore in itunes, your ipod will then completely restore."

help!!

I've got a problem jailbreaking my ipod touch. After the touchfree jailbreaking. On the ipod touch when I click the installer app it says needs to be updated. But when I try to update the installer app its says that the Package file size mismatch. And because of that I can't install any other application on the touch.

Hi,

I previously unlocked my 1.1.1 iPhone with 0.6 GUI version and for some reason, I had to restore it. But after restroing it, I am always getting error like "Open that URL" which I opened thousand times. I am trying so hard to do that. I restored my phone atleast 10 times today.

Any help or hint?

Are you connected to WiFi?

I did the touchfree hack after it first came out. It worked fine except now I have this issue that is driving me nuts. Half of the time when I unlock the phone to use it after I click on SMS / Safari, etc if starts the program but is not responsive and after a few seconds it closes. After I click the icon a second time it pauses about 5 seconds then the screen locks and I have to slide to unlock again. After that it seems to work until I stop using it then it starts all over.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is your router connected to the internet? Have you tried restarting your modem and/or router?

I can do that, but I was able to open the URL in my iPhone and it crashed safari. I also tried to use the online version, It installed everything but did not restart the phone. I was even able to see the service signal while I was inside preferenced etc., I just need to hide the activate screen.

Okay so I have a totally different problem to everyone else. All I want is to make my iPod restore back to its original state when I first got it. I DON'T want to install AppSnapp and everything again because I want the new updates from Apple for my iPod Touch and I can't do that when I have Jail Broken the iPod because it says error when I try to update or restore in iTunes. Is the only thing that I need to do restore the iPod by using Planetbeing's method? And also with that method do you hold down the Sleep button and the Home button at the same time at the start? Please help me.

**** yeah! I've finally got rid of AppSnapp and restore my iPod. What Planetbeing didn't say is that you have to have your iPod connected to your computer/mac and then do the process (Hold sleep and home buttons until blank screen then when you see the apple sign take your finger off the sleep button then keep the home button down. The 'connect iPod to computer' icon appears and on the computer it says something about restoring the iPod. Then your asked in iTunes if you want to restore and backup the files and also update your iPod.) The update is 1.1.2 [3B48b] and this fixes some **** and allows you to add events to the calendar. COOL! :D

thanks for help guys.

Trying automatic method: dn.vc/jb/

Hi,

I am trying to use this method, after installation and all stuff, It rings my phone instead of rebooting it. what should I do?

Hi

Touchfree looks great (thanks!), but I'm also having difficulties...

I'm only on Step 2, but when I visit http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com/ on safari I just get the little blue square / question mark in the top left of the screen, so safari doesn't close and I can't continue to the next step.

One of the reasons I want to jailbreak is so that I can copy my music back to the PC; as it was loaded from a different machine / old ipod I can't sync to itunes and so currently can't add anything new.

Therefore I don't want to try a restore, as that will delete all the files

Any ideas?

Cheers

Jailbreak for itouch

So i was able to jailbreak my itouch one month ago.
And today, when i synced my music through itunes, it updated my itouch and now all the apps i had are gone.
I restored my itouch and tried jailbreaking it again, but the safari wont crash, all it shows is a blue sqaure, i refreshed it a couple of times but it wouldnt work.
So what can i do to put all my apps back?

thanks
V

Error 404?

When I visit the Slovix link posted above, my Ipod says "Error 404". Is this what is meant by "safari crashes?"

I fixed the problem QTMLClient.dll problem after I downloaded a file from Planet but after I run the touchfree and this screen stopped so long.I don't know why it happened pls show me how to solve it.
