Just installed iPadOS 13.4 and have been using my Apple trackpad 2, first impressions are WOW.

They really put some thought in how to implement Mouse/Trackpad controls. As Apple stated, they did not just cut and paste the Mac OS trackpad into iPadOS.

Pinch controls works, four finger swipe up invokes multitask, four finger swipe right/left switches apps.

There’s a really cool ”snap” feature when hovering over apps, button, etc. You can see it when I hover over apps in the dock. Hovering over clock in the top right invokes a “snap” and clicking accesses Control Center.

Editing text is MUCH easier.

Really glad this is finally a reality.

Nice. Assuming that's you using it in the video, you looked pretty comfortable already, seems intuitive, nice visual clueing - I'm a buyer for the new Magic KB/TP, but I've also kind got a KB and TP already paired with our 12.9/3rd Gen, so excited about getting to try it next week (guess, I could install the GM from the dev site ...)

Yep thats me, I’m a buyer for the Magic Keyboard as well. Based off the quick impressions from just using trackpad and Keyboard folio, I think the Magic Keyboard is going to be awesome. Kudos to Apple for finally listening to their customer demand on this front.

Just ordered an 11" today. I'm passing on the keyboard with built-in trackpad for now, but might buy a separate trackpad 2 for it as that is cheaper and I feel like that would work for me in most of my use cases. I'm more worried about the keyboard with trackpad feeling cramped.

Yeah, I've got an extra Apple wireless KB and TP (earlier gens), and they work great (as great as the pre-13.4 allows for ...), but if I was mostly wanting "desktop" use, they're terrific. I think the new product is designed as a combo solution for portability, desktop, protection, all self contained, in the most minimal footprint.

My mouth is watering just watching the video. 🤤

Tap to click?

Yup! I have that working with my Magic Trackpad 2.

This could not have come at a better time for me. As many of us are, I’m unexpectedly going to be working from home for the foreseeable future. This will make it 100x easier...

I’ve been trying with magic mouse (don’t have the trackpad) and works great! This is a giant step in funcionality for iPad Pro.

One warning though ! .... in music app it is really easy to accidentally delete music tracks, any accidental side swipe and track is deleted. I’m not sure how easy to is to undo for tracks matched and uploaded.

Hey, is there a quick way to switch trackpad use between our iPad and our Mac? Because I only have one trackpad and I use a Mac and an iPad almost simultaneously... I don’t want to end up buying two peripherals

I've been trying to find an answer this as well but the only solution I could find was to turn off bluetooth on your Mac, which is not really ideal. I use an app called 1Keyboard to switch off my Magic Keyboard between my iPad and iMac and it works wonderfully and seamlessly (the caveat is that it requires a Mac). Unfortunately there isn't an app to do the same for the Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad 2. I've reached out to the developer to see if a similar app is in the works but seeing how 1Keyboard hasn't been updated for 5 years, I'm not hopeful. Also, such an endeavor might be more complicated considering there are gestures to consider.

By the way, this thread is wonderful. Answered all my questions about using the MT2 on my iPad Pro! Thanks!

Thanks so much for posting this! It's really helping with all the questions I have about the new mouse support 😄

How is it holding up with relatively complex web apps in Safari? I use Webflow a whole lot for work, and if I can use that with an iPad I might be able to start leaving the Macbook at home 🤞
