I’m having trouble with the Magic Trackpad 2 on certain clicks within apps. Sometimes, clicking just doesn’t work and I have to double click. It’s very odd and seems random — for example, in Agenda I have to double click to switch between Notes on the left nav bar. Other navigation elements in Agenda seem to work properly with single clicks.

Any ideas or settings I can check?

I’ve been finding that the clicking Toolbar items when using Microsoft Word sometimes does not work so that I have to resort to touching the screen. It seems random when it does and does not work, although I’d say it works much more often than it doesn’t.

Right now, trackpad and mouse support is fairly buggy IMO. Furthermore, most third party apps haven't been updated yet to take full advantage of trackpad and mouse support anyway. This is what happens when Apple hasn't shared the technology with developers in advance.

That's why I said earlier in this thread that we'll probably be in a better spot to assess in iPadOS 14.

Yes! Exactly my issue. I often reach out and just hit it with a finger also. I realized after posting it is probably happening in apps that haven’t been fully optimized yet. It is pretty rare.

is there any way in iOS to see the battery charge status of the Magic Trackpad 2 ?

As I use a BT Mouse, I find it most helpful when I am in productivity apps, like iWork. Occasionally, it is helpful with lengthy emails. Otherwise, it is faster for me to just use touch. Even when I am using the Apple Smart keyboard, I only really find the mouse helpful for navigating large documents, spreadsheets and mail.

Just realized there’s no option to change the click intensity of Magic Trackpad 2 on iPadOS.
On Mac you can change the intensity to light/medium/firm.
