So @Apple fanboy, have you tried the tripod yet?
So had a quick visit out this morning to some local bluebell woods. Gave me an opportunity to use my tripod for the first time.
So first of all I was shooting about 25ft from my car, so not a great opportunity for me to comment on the weight!

The tripod was very quick and easy to set up. The twist lock legs are much nicer to use than the lever lock that I have on my manfrotto. Just takes a few seconds and your good to go.

This was my first time using a ball head as my old tripod was a threeway. It takes a little getting used to as a small adjustment can easily end up being a complete recomposition! But once I got used to it, it was fine. I was shooting with a 24-70mm f2.8 so not my heaviest lens, but certainly no plastic lightweight lens.
I was shooting fairly low, but not so low that I needed to exchange the centre column for the short one.
When I used it fully extended it didn't feel any less stable than my heavier 190 Manfrotto which was good. Ground was pretty soft and uneven, but no issues to report.

So in summary, very happy with the purchase. I'll post a further review next time I'm taking it a bit further afield.

Cool. Thx for update. Told you the twist locks were the way to go... just make sure you have the friction set right on the ball... I still have an awful habit of twisting the wrong one and my camera taking a nosedive as the ball rotates...

Yes I did that a couple of times. But I was supporting the camera as I was learning today.
