yeah i figured it out. tired sending a pic but it doesnt work. its weird cause someone on here said that lake charles, la and new orleans, la worked. im in lafayette, la which is dead in the middle of the two and still doesnt work.

I'm in Alexandria, LA and my MMS is working. I have a non-jailbroken 16gb iPhone 3G with the modified carrier file. Rebooted the phone and it worked.

BTW, I'm on the family unlimited messaging plan with AT&T

I can confirm something. I put my GFs sim (WITH family unlimited plan) and MMS works. My sim, WITHOUT the plan, doesnt send.

We both have JB 3.0.

Those of you who have the tethering switch on the Network settings, where did you download the ipcc file from? I got mine from the Rapidshare link - does anyone who downloaded from there have the tethering switch? Perhaps there are two ipcc 5.1 files out there? Could someone who has MMS working and the tethering switch post a link to the 5.1 file they are using.

I got it from the tutorial that somebody posted several pages back. I could NOT get the rapidshare one to work, but the one included in the tutorial worked fine. I have a jailbroken 3GS on 3.0.1.

Ive tried aal the steps but when I control&shift updatey iTunes is looking for a .ipsw file and it say that the downloaded file will not work. Am I doing something wrong.

I just got back from the apple store. I had my iPhone replaced for the buttons being recessed and speaker sounding distorted......anyways when I got the new phone, luckily, it was still on OS 3.0.1 so I'm about to update to the hacked 5.1 carrier file. My MMS was working fine with my old iPhone 3GS so it should work fine with this phone. I'll update in a bit

Follow the steps in the tutorial post. When it opens the box for the file to update. browse to the folder where you have the file. Then in the file name box type the first couple of letters of the file name (e.g. ATT). That should allow you to select the .ipcc file or you can type the full name.

Assuming you're using a PC, try clicking the drop-down box for file type after you've hit Ctrl+Shift and Update. When I tried to update using the rapidshare file, the only filetype option listed (for files to update) was iPod/iPhone software files. After I used the new downloaded ipcc file, I clicked the drop-down box and it had an option to select iPhone Carrier Configuration files, which is what you're looking for.

I have done that but it says that it's not a correct update file. Could it have something to do with the fact that it's asking for a .ipsw file and not a .ipcc. It just doesn't alllow the update to go through the process.

change the dropdown to IPCC and it will locate it.

Anyone whose mms is working running 3.0, or are you all running 3.1 or 3.1.1? I'm wondering because I don't want to upgrade to 3.1 on account I don't want to lose my JB. :-/

I never got an answer to this question; will the MMS work even if I have 2G iPhone 3.1 with Tmobile?

And is there a tutorial?

mms for 3.1

Just to let everyone know mms does work now with the latest ipcc. Verizon seems to be the only one getting my pics. tmobile and sprint are not recieveing my pics but i can recieve there pics im assuming att is doing it slowly by each carrierer

Update again for me...

I guess MMS was still working. Just with 2 bars of Edge signal it sent slow as crap. Finally sent after about 3-5 minutes. When on 3G...only takes a few seconds.

u can easily change it to family plan or just reg unlimited txt just go to your account and change it to the reg one not the iphone unlimeted txt u might need to switch your sim to another att phone make a call so the other phone shows on your account then change the plan

Is it the same price?

Good thread it gets the MMS on your phone

I have a 32GB 3GS

I had the 3.1 beta 3 and then updated to the official 3.1 and lost my MMS feature

Even though it didnt' work it was there

This trick got it back on

Still not working

I even tried altering the settings on mms to:

APN: wap.cingular
Username: wap@cingulargprs.com
Password which is case sensitive: CINGULAR1
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32

Anyone have any help?

MMS is working great in Clinton, MS. I followed the instructions given on the first page of this thread, used the 5.1 carrier file update, then rebooted my phone and BOOM, it worked. I did the same for my parents and theirs is working fine as well. We also have the family unlimited messaging plan. By the way, does anyone have a command for use with XP, like the one used in Terminal on Mac OS X?
