Try Your MMS

Did tethering come with the 5.1 file, or is something else needed to even get the option? I have 5.1 (with MMS working) but no option to tether.
 
Update for me...

MMS works when I'm at my office in Cleveland. Does not work at my home west of Cleveland on Edge. Maybe a 3G thing at the moment? Could that small of an area make that much of a difference?

That may not work for everyone some of the modded/ (maybe official) carrier files for 5.1 do not have the tethering option inside of it.

Maybe the one that has the tethering option should be posted in here.

So many of those flying around these forums it's hard to keep track whats what.

From what I've gathered, there should be a switch for it under Settings>General>Network...but I have no such switch.

Yeah, I guess I don't have it, then. Oh well, it's not a huge deal. I don't need tethering, anyway.

I have the 5.1 AT&T.ipcc I got from this thread. It doesn't let me MMS, but I sure can tether. The option is there, as is the ON/OFF switch.

Edit - I have a screenshot of Tethering in progress a few pages back if you want to see it.
 
Those of you who have the tethering switch on the Network settings, where did you download the ipcc file from? I got mine from the Rapidshare link - does anyone who downloaded from there have the tethering switch? Perhaps there are two ipcc 5.1 files out there? Could someone who has MMS working and the tethering switch post a link to the 5.1 file they are using.

Just updated my wife's iPhone, this time using Vista. My laptop is XP Pro. A little different enabling iTunes to recognize the .ipcc file. That seems to be the hardest part, which isn't too bad. :)

Again, 5.1 ipcc, 3.1 apple, iTunes 9.0.

Edit: Hers is working like a champ also. We live right outside of Little Rock.

Hell then maybe its cause im on a hill. I have 3G but i see it dropping out a little. And there are AT&T trucks literally 2 minutes from my house. Ill try it later in a different area and see what happens.
