I got mine working in CT

Follow these steps:

1. Go to Start è Run ètype “command” and hit enter
2. Type/copy+paste this into the command console that comes up:
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
3. Hit enter
4.
Download the file to some location on your computer
5. Plug in your iPhone
6. Start iTunes
7. Click on your iPhone in the device listing in iTunes
8. Alt-Click the "Update" button (Shift-click in Windows)
9. Browse to where you saved the IPCC you downloaded
rename .zip to .ipcc
10. Select this file and click Choose (or OK on windows i think)
11. Reboot your iPhone

Having the same issue. (Using JB 3.0 on my 3Gs) I can send MMS but when I receive any MMS, l lose all cell connectivity and it goes to "searching..."

Odd. Mine receive works just fine.


so i assume that if your text plane is an iphone text plan then its not going to work at all till the 25th?

Mine is a family plan but AT&T knows that I have an iPhone. *

I was just afraid of screwing up my settings.....newbie at this. However I did go ahead and try it but a no go. The camera roll would only let send by email. Thanks.

You must go through Messaging.app to use Camera Roll pictures in your MMS messages. It can't be done through Pictures.app.

Well, Mary....if you have not installed a new carrier file, you have to wait until the 25th. You dont have the camera icon in you text window now do you? The carrier file gives you that.
Installing the carrier file cant hurt anything. You get a new one on the 25th if it does not work. I am assuming you upgraded to iTunes 9? If so, you have no means of getting the carrier file installed anyways.

I did the 3.1 update (itunes 9) when it first came out but just today got another update and it shows the 5.0 carrier file.

I am on the family text plan as well. I have rebooted a couple of times and reset the network settings but still no go. I can send, but I cannot receive. Just kiils my data connection and resets it.

Not sure what else to try.

So I am trying the ipcc hack, but I don't think the command is working properly on my computer because when I Ctrl-Click the Update button, it only gives the option of showing files that are ipod/ipw.

I copied in the command verbatum-- what's going on?

I loaded the file from kriller's site and have the problem.

I just redid all the steps and used a 5.1 file from here (http://www.tellitwalking.com/index....startdown&id=36)

After reboot I still have the same issue. I can send but when I receive, it kills my cell/data connection.

You could try resetting your network settings and see if that changes anything.

EDIT: Voicemails just showed up. about 5 minutes late.


Still cant receive MMS without killing my cell/data connection. Its weird. I get the tri-tone sound like im receiving the text, then my cell connection dies/resets. If I go into messages, nothing is there.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you, but I'm pretty sure that it is possible to go through the Photos app to send an MMS. I can. Here are some screenshots...

At least one person has got this working. Im tempted to try it myself.

So MMS is working for me. I made sure all my settings were right n everything. But I still have a question...
I sent a picture to my girlfriend n she didn't get it. Her iPhone isn't hacked for MMS or anything. Does the other person have to have MMS working in order for it to be fully functional? She didn't even get a link to the picture. If this method is suppose to work, shouldn't she at least get a link to my picture?

She also needs the updated carrier file installed.

CONFIRMED WORKING in orange county!!!! I talked to one rep to remove it, another to add it and everything is working nicely.

i.e. I am not jailbroken. I have only updated my iphone through itunes via the updates provided by apple/att. I have carrier 5.0 on my iphone which was part of the 3.1 update (I believe). I have not done anything special.

If you have the 5.1 IPCC (jailbroken or not, doesnt matter) it SHOULD work. Im sure 5.0 will work.

There are rumors (at least from what ive read on ars and TUAW) that people are receiving carrier updates without doing anything.
