Redownload the IPCC file. Once its on your desktop, alt click it (or whatever it is to bring up more info). Go down, delete .zip from the extenstion. Make sure its ATT_US.IPCC without the .zip.

That doesn't change it from being a zip file. Even after I remove the .zip extension, it's a zip file. If I then double click it, it opens a "Payload" folder that contains the ATT Bundle.

None of which is selectable to upload to the iPhone.

And the command prompt still does absolutely nothing when I type:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

Odd. I just remember that when i was doing this to my GFs mac the only way it worked was for me to change the extension through "get info" immediately after downloading it. Before, it would just show greyed out in itunes.

iTunes is closed when youre doing the command right?

OK - I managed to change the file type and uploaded to the iPhone.

I tried to send an MMS, and the "Sending" bar almost gets all the way, but I get the "!", that if I tap, tells me the message has not been sent and asks if I want to try again.

I guess I'm just not one of the lucky ones?

Where do you live? (general location) and what are your MMS settings?

For EVERYONE using the carrier file 5.0 that was doing the MMS settings, sim swap. This is what got ours to work. NOT updating any carrier files other than what was on our phone and NOT working.

Steps:
Settings
General
reset
reset network settings.

Phone will reboot....send a MMS message. Upon reboot, my phone started pouring in pics that people had sent me prior.

Wife sending house pic to me.

No MMS & VV

I guess I'm the only one who can't get both working at the same time. I've tried krillr's method and editing the carrier.plist as shown here:
https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/8476987/

As soon as I enter in the MMS info my voicemail stops retrieving messages. Test yours. Anyone experience this & have a fix?

Am I the only one with 3.1 and 5.0 and doesn't even have the camera icon or anything at all related to MMS on the phone?

I'm running 3.0.1 and the 5.1 carrier file, and my voicemail, MMS, and tethering all work (I've tested all 3). Main thing I did differently than most people was to not touch the settings under the cellular data network. If I changed anything, then for whatever reason tethering disappeared. Voicemail seemed to always work for me fwiw.

Anyone else try this? Sounds so simple.

This is strange I'm running 3.0.1 on 1 iPhone and 3.0 on another. Both get either VV or MMS but never both. Must be related to my account?

I'm in Dallas and its working. When I send a MMS to my brother who dons't have MMS on his Iphone yet he recived a txt msg that gives him a link to

www.viewmymesssage.com/1 with a user name and password.. he was able to view the message just not directly on his iphone Text stream..

my wifes phone has the MMS icon ( little camera) however she can not send a picture message she gets a little red exclamation next the message. she also has the tether option . I only have the MMS option however she was updated to the ATT 5.1 when she was on 3.0 then upgraded to 3.1 thats when the MMS showed up.

I sent 3 different picture mms to a friend on Tmobile they first one went thought fine, second one came thought as a big play button when it was clicked it showed the picture as if it was a movie clip ( it as just a jpg) third one came through normal

stopped by the ATT store tonight to ask about the MMS send a viewmymessage link I was told that there will be an Update to Version 3.2 via itunes. I asked if it was a courier update they told me that they go by the OS version in since thats whats easier for them then told me that I had a family plan and since I was the primary that's why my phone was working first and not my other two, mine had the flag removed.. thats what there screen showed on there system.. they said unless that is removed you can not send or receive a MMS

hope this helps
