Try Your MMS

Holy crap... it actually works! 3.1, iTunes 9, ATT family plan. I followed these instructions [link], then enabled MMS in Settings/Messaging, and then tried an MMS and failed. It only worked AFTER I disabled wi-fi. I'm not sure what that means, but it is what it is.

EDIT: And I forgot to mention, VVM does still work for me after updating to the carrier file in that link.
 
No go for me. Originally it had been due to being on the family plan unlimited texts but I removed that and went back to 200 texts a peice for our phones and MMS of course is not working.

But it's only a week and a half away so no worries.
 
I've tried everything in this thread and NOTHING works for me. So basically AT$T still sucks and I'm still waiting until the 25th.

All I really did is tease myself with the option to attempt to send an MMS and get more annoyed that the carrier I signed a deal with for 2 years sucks beyond belief. I will gladly pay an opt out fee to switch carriers if the Iphone moves to another carrier. AT$T really is absolute garbage.
 
I just got MMS

Ok.. I'm actually trying to terminate my contract with AT&T on my 3gs... But that's besides the point.. I went to Att to get a new sim card.. Just following the procedures of terminating for service.. I have been trying all the hacks and carrier files and calling AT&T to get mines changed but none of that ever worked..I tried it everyday to try to see if it would send.. So, today I got a new sim card.. And low and behold.. I tried it.. PICTURE MESSAGE SENT...
 
Update my 3G / Ver 3.1 / Itunes 9/ with the ATT 5.0 and got MMS working with no issues. did not get tethering.

updated my wifes phone 3G / 3.0 / Itunes 9 with Att5.0 got tethering no MMS then updated her phone to ver 3.1 now have both MMS and Tethering.

going to downgrade my phone to 3.0 then try to see if I can recreate this.

I;m in the Dallas, TX sent a MMS to a friend and he sent me one back.

You were able to upgrade to 3.1, and got MMS working WITHOUT installing the hacked 5.1 carrier file?
 
Am I the only one having this problem?

Ive sent myself many pic messages with each failing. My MMS DOES NOT work, however I randomly receive MMS messages from other contacts in my list. Twitter cant send out pics and ALSO notice how there is NO camera icon.

Well after I posted that I tried to downgrade my 3G from 3.1 to 3.0 that will not work. so i'm restoring back to 3.1 I did see that my phone has ver 5.0 carrier file when I update and my wifes read 5.1 only diff is that I upgrade her phone when is was on 3.0 then upgrade to 3.1

I have the MMS instaled on her phone however now when I try MMS she gets the little red icon.

my phone is still restoring I will type an update shortly

I thought you need the hacked 5.1 carrier file? I'm thinking of just waiting till the 25th. It's not that far off anyways.

Because it does nothing except bring up the prompt again.

Also, I am unable to select the ATT file I saved to desktop when I Alt click "Update" in iTunes.

What am I doing wrong? lol

OK restored my phone is on Ver 3.1 / 5.1 ATT I have MMS and its working and no Tethering app under Networks... so It looks like if you update when you are on ver 3.0 then update to 3.1 you will get both. however since apple is not verifying the 3.0 anymore you can't downgrade..

Redownload the IPCC file. Once its on your desktop, alt click it (or whatever it is to bring up more info). Go down, delete .zip from the extenstion. Make sure its ATT_US.IPCC without the .zip.
 
Tried every setting I can find, still a NO GO in the IE in Cali. I'm on OS 3.1 / Carrier file 5.1 and on a family texting plan. Tried sending to another iPhone, a non-iPhone, all with the same results.

South orange county here. Only thing I havent tried is going to 3.1 cause I dont want to lose my JB. Im on 3.0. Ill just be patient now since it seems like were stuck waiting.

Yeah, not that big of a deal to me, I can wait until the 25th. If it doesn't work then, I at least have someone to bitch too!
