For EVERYONE using the carrier file 5.0 that was doing the MMS settings, sim swap. This is what got ours to work. NOT updating any carrier files other than what was on our phone and NOT working.

Steps:
Settings
General
reset
reset network settings.

Phone will reboot....send a MMS message. Upon reboot, my phone started pouring in pics that people had sent me prior.

This is exactly what I did. MMS wouldn't work. I reset netowrk settings, rebooted, and voila. I'm in business!

Mine is working. Primary on a Family Plan. Restore to New iPhone. Option-click Update with .ipcc file.

No go for me and another friend in Western Mass but a different friend with older version I think he said 5.0 not 5.1 version of ipcc has it working. Weird

Just got a text message with an id number and password to view picture.

This sounds like it's working, but your plan does not include MMS. This is what happens for people that dont have access, if you will. Takes you to a site to view the image.
Have you installed a carrier file? The 5.0 one from months ago?

Here install this and do what I added

No I have not installed the carrier file 5.0. I have the 4.0 one. I may try to install it but am a little nervous about doing it in case I have problems. I noticed that some people are trying to uninstall 5.0 for one reason or another.

Thanks.

Well, Mary....if you have not installed a new carrier file, you have to wait until the 25th. You dont have the camera icon in you text window now do you? The carrier file gives you that.
Installing the carrier file cant hurt anything. You get a new one on the 25th if it does not work. I am assuming you upgraded to iTunes 9? If so, you have no means of getting the carrier file installed anyways.

Just did it and still deosnt work for me. It shows the pic in the message bubble and gets to about 95% sent and then the little red ! shows up.

Im in north jersey and im the only person in my family with ATT.

Well, that's odd. My iTunes only looked for .ipsw files. I had to do some Dos commands to make my iTunes have .ipcc as an option. I am still running 8.*

Try and install that carrier file I added.

Working here! :)

Jailbroken 3GS with 3.0
followed the instructions from TheKrillr in our current thread
http://www.krillr.com/blog/N72ZCXJH/tutorial-mms-on-iphone-os-31-att

it took TIME, didnt work at first, after the reboot, then waited about 20 minutes it started working as long as i did not have Wifi on.

then i followed this post

https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/8485053/
I used the instructions and MMS is working for me in the Little Apple, Manhattan, KS. At first it was only working when I turned off wifi. Then I read on another forum to update information in the MMS section of the Cellular Data Network on settings. I put in:

APN: wap.cingular
username: wap@cingulargps.com
password: CINGULAR1 (case sensitive)

I left the other settings under MMS alone and now I can send and receive while having wifi turned on. It works just fine on EDGE. I can't wait to see how much faster it sends/receives the next time I'm in a 3G area like Topeka or Kansas City. Supposedly we're getting 3G in my town by the end of the year but I'm not getting my hopes up.

after doing that i can send and receive MMS while on Edge, 3G or wifi

Im Central east coast NJ, Point Pleasant Beach.

good luck guys and thanks

This is strange I'm running 3.0.1 on 1 iPhone and 3.0 on another. Both get either VV or MMS but never both. Must be related to my account?

I finally got mine to work. For some reason my visual voicemail apn was wap.cingular. I changed it to acds.voicemail and got everything working. :D

Central PA MMS works!!

Central PA MMS works on a 3.0 iPhone, jailbroken.

so i assume that if your text plane is an iphone text plan then its not going to work at all till the 25th?

So MMS is working for me. I made sure all my settings were right n everything. But I still have a question...
I sent a picture to my girlfriend n she didn't get it. Her iPhone isn't hacked for MMS or anything. Does the other person have to have MMS working in order for it to be fully functional? She didn't even get a link to the picture. If this method is suppose to work, shouldn't she at least get a link to my picture?
