this is nothing new. there are lots of people in certain parts of the country that are now able to use MMS.
as for myself, I'm in the Orlando, FL area and it's been working great since last week.
but I never received any magical over the air carrier update. I had to manually install mine.
I've got no dice but others are reporting that it is working in Chicago. It's somewhat apparent that this isn't dependent upon location.
That's what it seems like. Besides 1 person, it seems like the common denominator here is being on a family [text] plan, which was what was needed back when 3.0b1 was released if I'm not mistaken.
Some are getting it on their standard iPhone text plans but nothing else. It's not a surprise that it's not based on location but just whatever order you happen to pop up in their system.
Hm, interesting. Oh well, nothing we can do except wait. You would figure with all the practice that we've had we would be better at it lol.
Exactly. I'm just going to check it every night or morning to see if it just happens to be enabled and if it isn't before the 25th then whatever, that's life.
I don't expect at&t to be done by the 25th, either. They'll screw up somehow.
I have it working on both my mine and my wides phone but I can't send MMS if I am on wifi. If wifi is turned off then no problem. Second is anyone else experiencing a lag in sending. The status bar moves quickly then stops when it is almost done and hangs for up to 10 to 15 seconds.
I hope its the opt out thing. I dont want to be patient anymore.
Need a family texting plan for it to work atm.

Edit: I know for a fact that I don't have it enabled yet because I cannot send a MMS to phonenumber@mms.att.net without it being rejected.
Another way is to put sim in a different phone and see if works. I did and it failed.
I may do carrier file so if enabled early I can try it while on vacation.
