I just noticed this too. Incoming mms works fine all the time. Outgoing mms only works when NOT on Wifi. Weird.

I had this problem at first, following the directions in the tutorial linked on page 16. I was, however, able to get it working with wifi by added the following setting under general -> network -> cellular data Network:

MMS
APN: wap.cingular
USR: wap@cingulargprs.com
Pass: CINGULAR1
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32
MMS Max: 614400

mms battery life

its been 3 days with mms on my 3.1 and almost 2 days sinnce i charged it so mms does not really effect battery life unless of course ur mmsing a lot. also apple does recommend you let ur battery die completly once a month also i recommend who ever has mms now you restore your iphone and take out ipcc file before the 25th and let itunes download the official version

I wish it was. It would not let me sign up for anything but the iPhone text option. I found the feature page for adding the standard text but it wouldn't let me add it to the cart. It asks you to pick a phone then of course takes me right to the iPhone options page. Bah.

HOWEVER, after canceling my text messaging last night and calling ATT this morning and asking to have the standard text added to the phone, I now have MMS. Win! :D

Thanks to everyone who contributed.

iTunes 9.0
OS 3.1
Carrier 5.1
Standard ATT Text
Alta Loma, CA

GO!!!

Mine switched to the standard text automatically, I'm not really sure how, I just know one night I was at the iphone 1500 plan and then 24 hours later without calling or swapping sims or anything it switched to the normal plan.

i tried it tonight... couldn't get it to work. on a family calling plan, but individual standard iphone text plans. in austin tx.

My battery drained in my pocket 30% in 15 minutes tonight for no reason. I thought it may have to do with the carrier file so I reset my network settings and rebooted. MMS now works for me in Philadelphia. Go figure.

Also, the battery jumped from 47% to 68% in my pocket. That's right. It wasn't plugged in. The percentage just went up on its own. WTF. 3.1 is buggy as all hell . . .

how do i even enable mms? do i have to wait for att to update? or is it in the setting? basically how do i do it?

u need to download att ipcc file 5.1 once download it go to itunes hit shift resore and open up file hit ok it will download then rebbot iphone

Restore isn't needed, at least not for me (mac). Use update, you don't have to restore and resync your computer.

Works in Western New York. Although when I send MMSs to other iPhones that aren't MMS hacked, they don't even get a viewmymessage link.

Okay..

I haven't done anything to my iPhone since August, and that is with Theming with LockInfo. So my current iPhone 3G is at:

OS: 3.0.1
Carrier: 5.0 from http://www.krillr.com/blog/3DPQHBZ3/i-have-tethering-and-mms-on-my-iphone-and-yes-im-on-att

Jailbroken (redsn0w)
Unlocked (ultrasn0w)

Since then, I haven't done a single thing. Tonight, I get 2 MMS messages from a friend on T-Mobile.

I'm on an unlimited family text messaging plan. So it's definitely coming, some people have it, and now I do, and it is still "late summer".

Oh.. Sacramento, CA, and Las Vegas.

this did not work for me. I see the camera, pics just wont send. How can i revert back to the original .ipcc file

I dont care if it stays on the phone, i just want it to update without a hitch on the 25th

As of days ago, MMS suddenly works for me. I have a feeling that they're just enabling individually by phone or region. I'm in Union County, NJ.

I had this problem at first, following the directions in the tutorial linked on page 16. I was, however, able to get it working with wifi by added the following setting under general -> network -> cellular data Network:

MMS
APN: wap.cingular
USR: wap@cingulargprs.com
Pass: CINGULAR1
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.2009.11.32
MMS Max: 614400

That's an invalid Proxy IP...proof read before posting.

Weird bug: I cant send or receive MMS pics but over the last few days i receive pics i send myself...coming in from a DIFFERENT address. It doesnt happen with all of the pics I send, just some. Its very weird.

Also, my phone tells me i have "attachment: 1 image" a lot and a blue arrow on the sms screen.

got bored, figured i would try this out. didn't work for me in central NJ. got the red "!" icons.

If it helps, here are my MMS settings.

APN: blank
Username: blank
Password: blank
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32
MMS Max Message Size: blank
MMS UA Prof URL: blank

Now, I haven't tested SENDING MMS, however, I was able to RECEIVE them.

This fixes the wifi issue but do we have to type this in everyday? I typed it in yesterday and today it wasnt there, had to re-enter it.

iTunes 9, 3.1, 5.1 downloaded with bundle fixes from krillr is a GO in Dover, Delaware.

As far as sending, I haven't had anyone send me one yet so I haven't tested receiving.
