Anyone have their battery life get worse after applying the carrier file? Mine seems to have gotten worse. I had this happen in the past so I never used them till now. Now I can't restore my iPhone or else I'll end up with 3.1.

my battery life took a major hit after doing this..!

ive always had it on..

your battery life will odviously be affected with it especially if ur useing your mms or txting more since you now have mms ofcourse you can always wait till the 25th and resore your phone and take the ipcc out with no mms but i bet your battery life will have a lost once you download the mms on the 25th again

For those that can't use MMS: have you tried testing using your "MMS e-mail"?

For example, I can e-mail 3373760380@mms.att.net (replace the number here with yours) and see if AT&T returns an e-mail like this:

<3373760380@mms.att.net> has restricted MMS e-mail

Please reply to <Postmaster@cingularme.com>
if you feel this message to be in error.

Final-Recipient: RFC822; <3373760380@mms.att.net>
Action: failed
Status: 5.3.0

If you get this message, it seems like an opt-out code is still in place on the phone.

P.S. This is not a valid number used here.

ive had my phone for about a week now.

i turned on push because i wanted to get my emails faster.

today, after the update my battery drained much faster without anymore texting than normal, infact less than normal. Thats how i noticed the drain, i looked at it and it was lower than normal and i hadnt even used it.
is there more activity now in standy by or something?

and will it update automatically through itunes?

i meant to reverse the install of the ipcc file.

ive since sync'd with itunes. will it restore to original 3.1 or to the most recent backup with the new ipcc that i installed?

it should take it out but im not sure ur restoring to facory settings u only have 1 restore date?or should i say 1 back up date it always saves ur back up and the dates u backed them up u dont have to use the lates backup one

if u opnen up ur itunes ans go to ... edit... prefrences..device u should see a few back ups

No go in Manchester, CT. 3.1/5.1 I've tried everything here. I'll try some more in a few hours and/or tomorrow.

Edit: Scratch that. It works now! I sent a photo to myself and I didn't get it until about 10 minutes later but I did get it. I just sent one to my girlfriend who has some crappy Verizon phone. I don't think she's received it yet.[/QUOTE
cool I may try it. You on family plan or regular single?

I'm on a single plan.

I think it should work for everyone, I have a 3g and 3gS on 3.0 with the 5.1 carrier. When i first installed it it sent one mms and then quit working. so i reset network settings and cellular data settings (still no luck), But also my signal was real weak too. So when i left the house and got better coverage it worked, so maybe if you dont have that many bars (i had 1) it might be a better to try in a better area, BTW in my area we have edge:mad:. Go online att.com and check what messaging plan your on, make sure your not on the iphone plan that right there will kill your mms.

I've never done a restore. This is my first iPhone. I'll check that when I get home and just choose a date/time before I installed the ipcc

thanks
