I'm using iPhone OS 3.1, Un-Jailbroke, iPhone 3G.

No MMS for me. :(

I guess I'll just have to wait until the 25th, But I don't even see any traces of being able to MMS on my phone, No buttons, No Settings or anything?

You need to download and install the modified carrier file, which is on the first page of this thread.

The carrier file is from AT&T, probably extracted off another phone. I don't know the process. No matter what, the same carrier file will needed to be updated on September 25, since every iPhone without the modified carrier file is using the 4.0 carrier file instead of the 5.1 carrier file.

no go for me in NYC. Updated to the new carrier file and still can't send or receive mms messages

Just tried this out and it worked for me. I can send and receive MMS! I'm in the chicago burbs if that helps anyone.

I used the ipcc file from the first page. No tethering though, just MMS.

Okay, I downloaded it, I can't option+shift-update my iPhone with it though, The file is grayed out.

I was on the basic unlimited before during the beta trying to get it to work, I just recently got it changed back so I could get the notices (viewmymessage crap). So when I talked to att I just said my friends are idiots and think that it is live now and Im tired of seeing the messages, can we just switch it back to regular unlimited so I dont get the notices and then on the 25th it will work itself out? Guy was like sure no problem.

I don't know what to think now, I just talked to a different rep and they also told me there would be pro rated charges and if I did this.

:(

You need to run this command in terminal so that itunes will recognize the ipcc file.

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

I'm having a total brain fart day.

You're not running the full command. You started it at com.apple. You need to put 'defaults write' in there too. Just copy the command below and paste it into terminal

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

I used the 5.1 carrier file from here.

It worked the first day but stopped. I looked at the apn settings and saw that there were some left blank. I filled in the APN with wap.cingular, Username with wap@cingulargprs.com, and Password with CINGULAR1 and all was well with the MMS world again.

Interestingly, I noticed that the MMS Proxy in the 5.1 carrier file I used had one difference than the one I had used in the past, it was 66.209.11.32:80. I'm not certain, but previously when I had MMS working I only used 66.209.11.32. I hadn't been able to get MMS to work until I added the :80.

Just got confirmation that I can actually receive MMSs from other people, too. One of my friends flooded me with pics he's been hanging onto to send to me once I could actually receive them. I lol'ed.

Okay I did that, And I "got it" but I guess MMS is a "No Go" in Orlando FL.

I was logged into my OLAM, and noticed this under usage after I started sending/receiving MMS. Should I be worried?

Looks like you have a messaging plan for Text and IM only.

I have the Family Messaging Unlimited plan and it looks like this.

Still no go in Jacksonville, Florida, so I guess no for N. Florida atm.

I had to reset my carrier settings to get Tweetie to work as well. Kept getting unsecured login errors with the the tweaked ipcc file.

Mms

MMS working here in cumberland county NJ....Didn't work Last night tried everything and nothing and this morning i got up and tried it for the hell of it and bamm MMS.. then Loaded 5.1 on my girlfriends Phone and got it the first shot 3.1/5.1 Updates

Mine started working today!! I'm in Northern Virginia

I'm in Rosslyn. I have an iPhone 3G, non-jailbroken, OS 3.1. I have the 5.1 ipcc file, but wanted to wait until somebody from my area confirmed it worked.

Are you running OS 3.1?
What messaging plan do you have?
What MMS settings did you use?
You used the 5.1 carrier file correct?

Thanks!
