No, was working all day.
What about you? Notice anything different?
Who's in you avatar?
I'm in Orlando too, so I'll wait till another 2 weeks.
Had to do the sim card swap and changed text plans...MMS is a go now. I did this about two months ago and it only worked for about 20 minutes before AT&T's sweep system hit my iphone account and disable MMS even on the regular text plan. I just hope now that AT&T is not doing the sweep crap anymore.![]()
Earlier today I tried using the 5.1 carrier file with OS 3.1 (on an iPhone 3GS) and it didn't work. So tonight I tried this method and it worked. I'm not sure if all the steps listed are needed; I'm only listing them because it's the exact process I used to get and send MMS from my 3GS.
1. Took my sim card and placed into my girlfriend's phone. I was able to send an MMS using her phone my sim card.
2. Next, I took my girlfriend's sim card and stuck it in my iPhone and used the following settings to send an MMS from my iPhone using her sim card.
APN: wap.cingular
Username: wap@cingulargprs.com
Password: CINGULAR1
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32:80
MMS Max Message Size: 614400
MMS UA Prof URL: [leave blank]
Note: the settings that come with the hacked 5.1 carrier file from Krll's tutorial would not enable the sending/receiving of MMS. Thus, I decided to try adding the additional info that "zapped" posted earlier.
3. I took out my girlfriend's sim card from the iPhone, stuck my sim card in the iPhone and proceeded to check that the iPhone saved all of the info I entered into the fields. It did not and I had to type all of that info again. Once I did that I was able to send MMS from my iPhone 3GS with carrier file 5.1 on an iPhone that is not jailbroken. I am using Windows XP and the iTunes that was available right before iTunes 9.
Like I said, I don't know if those first two steps are necessary, but I do know that the additional info is needed in the fields under the MMS setting. Try it out and see what happens!
Anyone else have to keep their messaging open in order to send/receive mms?
If I click the home button I never receive it nor do I get a preview and the settings for preview are on...
just wondering
i took my phone off charge at 7am i have been mmsing all day n by 5 i still had like 40 % charge so i have been using it more its going to take more power away from ur phone regardless its n added feature to save battery life set ur brightness to as low as u can but bright enough to see also turn ur location service off u only really need it if ur using google maps that helps save battery life a lot also if ur not using wifi turn it off cuz it always searching for wifi these things should help alot
I just noticed this too. Incoming mms works fine all the time. Outgoing mms only works when NOT on Wifi. Weird.something weird i have noticed. mms doesnt work will connected to wifi.. only on 3G
All of the steps have worked in enabling MMS but they fail to send. I've tried to change from the iPhone text plan to a generic plan online and it's impossible. It doesn't even list the the iPhone as compatible when shopping for alternate text options. You must select the iPhone text package.
I'll call 611 tomorrow but what do I ask for? Non-iPhone text plan? Generic? This will be a last ditch effort to get his working otherwise I'll just wait. I have a single user account so family plan is out.
Edit: I canceled my current iPhone text plan. Maybe it will be easier to get signed up for the standard plan. Just know if you do this any texts will be 30 cents a pop.
