OK, so last night I'm looking at this band on Amazon...and THINKING about ordering it...but I'm not intending to do so. I'm thinking "Well, they want $80 for it from the manufacturer, but Amazon has it now for $110...guess I could order it when they return in August and save the $30". And I'm NOT that sold on the band anyway. So I decide not to order it- I was just looking anyway.

This morning there's an email from Amazon with my order confirmation on the tungsten band. WHAT!??!? I swear I did NOT click that one-click order button.

What to do??? The half-hour cancel order button is LONG gone. Did I accidently brush that button when closing my iPad? Did ios9 beta somehow do a "predictive" button press for me???

Not sure what to do. Guess I'll wait til the band arrives and figure it out.

I do have a pair of perfect SS adapters waiting for a custom leather band I ordered from ETSY- guess if I want to I could use them on the metal band as it'll be here on Monday- well before the leather band will.

You can still easily return it to Amazon, they can pick it up for you via UPS.

I picked one up to try it. I have the Hoco 3 bead and I like it...but something about this Tungsten one seems classy. Not too expensive and definitely isn't cheap-looking. It will be here on Monday...we'll see if I keep it. :)

Mine should arrive today. Guess I'll consider keeping it once I examine it- but I DEFINITELY did not intentionally click on that Amazon One-Click button. In fact, I went back and disabled one-click just because I never want this to happen again. Good thing I wasn't looking at Ferraris...

Happened to me once, was browsing the surface 2s out of curiosity on the iphone amazon app. Few hours later got an amazon email stating my purchase had been shipped, didn't even order the damn thing, and neither did i get an instant confirmatory email. Ended up receiving the product and sending it back.

Well, the band arrived and I put my LUVVITT adapters on it. A couple of observations:
1. The adapters don't fit so well in the band. The square ends of the band are a bit wider than the adapter would like and they have a notch on their underside that, if engaged into the adapter's elbow on the pin, keep the last link at the pin from rotating freely...so it' feels like you have to fight the band to get it to plane out properly with the watch face.
2. The band is HEAVY. It won't be quite as heavy once I remove all the links I need to.
3. I didn't think to order a watch band kit- so I have no way of removing the links I need to remove to get the thing sized properly.

Color wise, it's a beautiful match against the stainless steel- perhaps a tad bit darker, but I think a much closer match than the brushed links on the Apple band.

So...even though I didn't order it I think I like it and will keep it.

Now...where to quickly find a watch kit to remove links...

The way the tungsten band binds up on the traditional apple style adapter is really irritating. I'm a bit concerned about the point pressures that might be happening on the brittle tungsten at he times when that frustrating bind-up occurs. So, as much as I don't like the look of the current lineup of spring bar adapters, I'm ordering a pair from eBay.

FWIW, I wrote ANDROIDl-USA and asked if they might consider or had plans to develop an adapter that could replace the last link in the tungsten band.

This band would be totally wonderful if you could remove that last link, and replace it with a link that had the springs and the locking mechanism to function as the adapter.

They'll probably just reply with "No"....but it never hurts to ask. I don't mind if they laugh at me!

OH, here's my band:

If a lot of people are buying their bands they might eventually make an adapter I guess..

For anyone wondering, this thing is much heavier than a similarly made stainless steel band.

From Wolfram Alpha, Stainless Steel has a typical density of 7.9 grams per cubic centimeter; Tungsten (aka Wolfram, oddly enough) has a density of 19.25 grams per cubic centimeter. So, this band is like more than twice as heavy as one that would be made of stainless steel- 2.44 times as heavy actually.

I'm expecting a huge bicep on my watch arm in no time. ;)

What's the weight of the tungsten band?

What's the weight of the tungsten band?

I weigh my SS watch with the black sport band in at 2.75 oz...and the ANDROID tungsten band weighs in at 8 oz even. I will end up removing at least four of the eighteen links.

One of the nice things about the links is that on each side there are two slightly narrower links. So I'm guessing that you can achieve a large variety of fine tuning on the actual closed width by removing the standard link or the narrower links as needed. You can see the narrower links in the photo I posted a few posts up...look at the removable links closest to the clasp.

I got my Android band and I think it will be great. However, I agree that the leather band style adapters bind up too much in the link making them unusable. For those of you that have used the "Utica guy" adapters, does it bind up at all or do they work well? I have a pair coming...hoping I can at least try it out with them!

Bigdog,

My freedomclock/Utica spring rod adapters will be here on Saturday. My watch kit hammer and pins will be here on Friday. So I'll have the bracelet functioning, hopefully, by Saturday night.

On a youtube video a user reviews the Android band and he uses the spring rod type adapters and I don't see any kind of binding issue with them on the video, nor does he make any kind of comment about it.

Now, wouldn't it be even more wonderful if ANDROID released a special tungsten link that replaces the last link the bracelet and IS the adapter for the Apple watch??? Email them and ask! I did.

I'll email them, for sure. My adapters are due here on Friday, so I'll let you know. :)

Its a nice workout watch for my arm. Lol I have been very tough on it. So far so good!

I love this band, everyone notices it!

Pocky, what adapters do you use on your band? The spring rod type or the apple type?

Maybe if we start an email campaign to ask ANDROID-USA to make an adapter just for this band and the apple watch we can get them to do so! So, write them and ask if they can! I would love to see the last link in the bracelet be the adapter that slides into the apple watch- similarly to how the apple link bracelet has integral adapters with it as well.

Heck, if I were a machinist I might even attempt to make my own! So, send them an email please.
