So, it's proved not 140.0.0.0.0 make the difference, but your card has native Orinoco support in macOS.
Booting into Windows, I discovered that the part number of my card in the BIOS is - 113-4E353BU-O50.

Thanks for the info.

I didn't dig deep into the kext to check what's actually written in there. But the known "blessed" part numbers are 113-4E353BU-O4E and 113-4E3531U-O4V.

So, may be as long as the part number is start with 113-4E353BU or 113-4E3531U, then macOS will assign Orinoco framebuffer to it natively.

I think so too.

Can anyone please help finding an alternative supplier of this cable more in the Europe Region instead of China or alternative individual cables that would provide the same power solution ?

18AWG Dual Mini 6 Pin Male To 8 Pin Male PCI-e Y Splitter Power Cable For Mac Pro

The one I ordered from China never arrived and most likely never will. Getting the run around off the supplier on Amazon.

A web link to the exact product solution would be much appreciated.

Cheers... :)

Thank you Startergo....

But the Amazon link doesn't ship to where I live... Cork, Ireland, and the eBay is another China provider... so sceptical about anything from China as my last order from Amazon was an accredited seller from China and it's been over a month and still no cable.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Anthony

As far as the Chinese supplier is concerned I got the cable from him, so he is reliable. It is a good quality 16AWG cable. I couldn't find anywhere else cable like this.

Thank you again Startergo.... I will allow just one more week with my original cable order from China and that still results in a no show... I will try your contact on EBay... thank you so much.

I did some more digging and this cable only seems to be available from China... so I don't really have a choice really.

Thank you again for your help and advice.

Regards,
Anthony

Succesfully flashed my RX 580 (part no. 113-1E3870U-O45) to part no. 113-4E353BU-O4E.

Orinoco framebuffer on mine as well.

If flashed the card with ATIWinFlash 2.84 via Thunderbolt (Sonnet egfx breakaway box).

No problems so far.

Purchased this card used recently. It was used for crypto mining. Works great in Mojave - I didn't even need to edit the BIOS, the card is assigned the correct framebuffer and otherwise works fine in OS X. However I can't for the life of me get it to work in Windows 10. Windows will boot but not display anything out of any of the outputs on the card. I even tried reinstalling Windows 10 (with the original 5770 installed) but still no luck. Could this be caused by the BIOS being modified for mining by the previous owner? Or maybe because I'm using an EFI Win 10 installation? The only way I was able to get the card to display anything when not booted into Mojave or High Sierra was when I booted off the Windows 10 installation DVD I burned but that only supports installing Windows in Legacy BIOS mode, which I do not want.

Mining firmware installed, change back to the original one.

Thanks. That's what I figured. I'm having a tough time finding a BIOS for this model as it seems my card uses Micron memory which apparently is not as common as Samsung or Hynix variants

try patching the driver for bios signature check:
atikmdag-patcher.exe
https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher
https://ibb.co/ifstbJ
It did the job for me
[doublepost=1539551071][/doublepost]You will have to use gt-120 or other to use the display for patching

Guys, was gifted a new Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 8GD5 Special Edition. Part number is 11265-21-20G I believe looking solely at Amazon and sapphire site. Will this be functional in my 5,1?

Had been reading here and planning on ordering soon but SO beat me to it. Just wanted to see if the one he ordered will work.

Yes, it'll work but it will block one of your PCIe slots. It's a much larger card than the Apple recommended PULSE.
Also, worth following this guide to flash it with a modified part number.

I hope I'm not derailing the thread too much, but I'm having some weird issue with my Pulse RX580 8GB. I was lucky enough that its part number was close enough to the official "blessed" version that I didn't have to modify anything, it's assigned the correct framebuffer out of the box. Great. But when booting into Windows 10 I get no display output at all until I remove and reinsert the Displayport cable. Same with DVI. HDMI appears to work fine however, so it's not really a huge issue. Has anyone come across this before?

I thought it might have been just an issue with the individual card I had since I bought it used and it had been used for mining cryptocurrency, so I bought another one new on Amazon and it has the same exact issue. Luckily the part number is still good so it still works great in Mojave with no modifications needed.

Another interesting thing about this second card is that it has a switch on the PCB to change from "Gaming Mode" to "Compute Mode". I can't find any reference to this anywhere, I'm guessing it's a fairly new revision? Is it effectively just switching between two different BIOS? I only installed the card last night and haven't had much time to mess with it beyond making sure it actually works.
