Mine's still chilling in Shanghai - the weird thing is that it departs from Shenzen when going via Kuro Neko. I wonder if it's just the label creation that happens in Shanghai as isn't it Shenzen where Apple's factories are at ?

EDIT - Still chilaxing in Shanghai/Shenzen at 4pm JST - doesnt look like it's going to make a flight today. Apple strangely enough have given me an EXACT date of Thursday so at this rate its going to be exactly that date unless it makes it on to flight before Tuesday morning.

Mine too! No it will be Monday. Mine should be in dartford in about 30-45 mins

UPS tracking never changed after showing it leaving Stanford-le-hope. Perry sure there won’t be much now until Sunday night or early monday when it hopefully does out for delivery

Ooo it's now shown as "Despatched from Overseas". Shanghai to Tokyo is literally a 2 hour flight at most.

It could (in theory) now reach me on Monday afternoon if it gets in to Tokyo tomorrow and Kuro Neko gets it on the internal flight down to me. (However it's a Sunday so I'll know in 24 hours if it's goin to make it or not)

Ah sorry, I misread your post and thought that you were talking about educational discount from Apple, not that other company that many people here have had a very poor experience with.

So for reliable supply the comparison figures are:

Apple Retail Price: £2,399

Apple Educational Pricing: £2,158.80

Costco Black Friday price: £2,079
Thanks. Got AO to price match Costco. Not a bad deal!

I've got a Philips P279 (27" 4K) and have been pleased with it. I particularly like that it has a network port in addition to the usual USB hub.

how do you find the resolution? I'm really after something that gives really sharp text on the screen... I know its not possible to get a retina like experience with the PPI on most monitors unless you buy the Pro XDR and get close to 220.

just see that Philips is 163ppi so that pretty good!

I finally bit the bullet and reserved the base 14 Silver for pickup. I’m surprised how constrained supply is in the US. I’ve literally been checking everyday for availability for this model.

QQ - I’m assuming the Base model can run 1 4K monitor at 120hz right? I was tempted to go for the 10/16 but not sure if actually need it

Yesterday they charged the Macbook again, let's see if there is any movement in the order in the following days. I'll keep you posted.

looking at the European thread its a similar situation too
Mine has gone to PFS today!? So after the delivery date being extended (which is two weeks away now) it’s PFS. How long have others been on PFS - surely not for weeks? Confused.

Mine went PFS last Sunday and then shipped Monday. After that it’s been painfully slow

Pretty sure both pro and max support up to 6k at 60hz.

It’s 120 hz on the internal promotion display

I'm running it at "looks like 1920x1080" retina, which works for me, my previous desktop (a 2010 iMac) was at 1920x1080 so it is what I have been used to, except with sharper text. Happy to send you a screenshot if that will help.

7pm JST and doesn't look like my machine has made it to Tokyo or maybe it has but is in a "waiting to be processed on Monday morning" pallette so at this stage unlikely I"m gonna get it tomorrow.

Looks to be Tuesday pm now for me :(

no update since Friday morning so still hoping it still just update tomorrow morning and it goes out for delivery!

think I'll be returning the apple keyboard and Magic Mouse... its the lack of ability to pair it to two devices at once which is the deciding factor... want to be able to switch between two MacBooks (with both on one monitor when I find one!)

for mouse and keyboard it looks like the Logitech mx anywhere and mx keys mini (this actually is backlit which the apple one isn't!) will work for me.

... when its in stock!

Yep indeed it is! Hopefully out for delivery soon even though the estimate is still showing Tuesday

Any update on yours?
If all is well it should be out for delivery then somewhere between 8 and 10am this morning.

No signs of movement yet on mine but it could go any way as 3:30pm is the cut off for next day delivery on in stock orders so it might turn up in the next 2 - 3 hours in todays sort. If nothing in the next 3 - 4 hours then pushes back to Wednesday.

If it was marked as leavin Shanghai on Saturday I would expect movement today though...

Woo hoo! It's so close. I can't wait. It's finally home. What happened with the monitor?
The monitor is going to be a bigger drama than my 3 MacBook orders!

The ultrawide was sent back last week so waiting for the company offer a refund it.. which I’m tempted to take and try out a monitor with a higher pixel density

No idea yet what one that will be!
