Presumably a fast external SSD via Thunderbolt is going to be pretty damn quick? Assuming all the OS stuff lives on the internal SSD etc.
Yeah, you can get a Thunderbolt enclosure (Jeyi on Aliexpress seems to be very good) and a fast SSD and it will work almost as fast as your internal SSD. It works out only slightly more than a fast external SSD like the Kingston XS2000 or the Sandisk Extreme Pro. It will be faster. But I doubt you'll notice, because apps and OS will be on the internal one. So I'm going to save myself the hassle and I will get a commercial drive if ever I need more storage.

I jumped on the June 2020 13 inch refresh so my MBP is less than 18 months old, I also went top tier - 16/1TB - to last me a few years.

I don't need a new one, but safe to say I want one...

If new MacBooks are available to order straight after the event from the Apple store, when do we think 3rd party retailers like Amazon and Very will have stock ready to order?

My pros will last till they’re next updated!

Never got on with the fit with the original AirPods, would always fall out. The ear tips on the pro help me keep in them in place.

Ooh MagSafe charging is neat!
Had to return the pros unfortunately. I’m the opposite. The pros were actually painful for me
