iPad Pro [UK] iPad 2024 Order Thread

Mine has left Prague, where it spent the day, only to spend the night in Leipzig. Finally this morning, round 4ish, it departed for Norway. Will see if it makes a stopover in Copenhagen or Malmö. Expect my delivery in the late afternoon. Unfortunately I’m towards the end of the DHL route…
 
Anyone for store pickup still waiting for ‘ready for pickup’ status and QR code? Launch day order for Regent Street, but still sat on processing.
 
Happy launch day everyone!

Got my Smart Folio on Apple's site in the end last night, and both it and and iPad are still 'on their way to the depot' with DPD.

Feeling a bit under the weather and flu-y so the new iPad will be a nice treat. 😊

I had an email at 01.42 (yes, the wee hours) from Apple to say my iPad has dispatched and it’s supposed to arrive today. Before that, it was arriving Friday.

My Apple pencil seems to be stuck with DHL at the Collection from Retailer Stage. been like this for nearly 24 hours. Guess it's not coming today. Thankfully my ipad via DPD has arrived in newcastle and is due to be delivered soon.
 
My Pro (and accessorie) has reached the DPD Edinburgh depot but the Air that I ordered first still en route or waiting to be be scanned in at Edinburgh) . Wonder if it will make it on time to get loaded into same van for delivery 🤔I don’t expect I’ll get delivery until late afternoon / early evening as that is norm for us with DPD. Usually get delivery window around lunchtime.
 
It's happening folks! Received a text message from DPD and an email from John Lewis at 06:14 both confirming delivery between 07:57 and 08:57...which is excellent news as it gives me the whole day with the ipad and with minimum waiting around...especially as I have the day off work, which is a thing of beauty in itself!

Now, the question is, do I restore from icloud backup or set it up as a fresh device?...what are you guys going to do?

Big shout out to DPD this morning, who accidentally loaded my iPad onto the truck heading north instead of south and so it is in Scotland instead of SE England, won't be arriving today after all and they now don't have an estimated date.

To think I was glad when it was them and not someone else eh 😅

Nice early slot!

I was thinking about the classic 'new or restore' question while in the shower not long ago.

I think setting up from new this time. Something feels really nice and fresh about it, and with iCloud Keychain you can get straight into apps and websites anyway. I usually start with going to App Store and Purchases and clicking the cloud icon for the essentials and most used apps, arranging the Home Screen and logging in.

You often find other apps come to mind as you go and can add them to the mix but it's a nice clean set up feeling!

I'm a little concerned my DPD has been "on its way to our Larkfield depot" for approaching 12 hours now. Wondering if the truck stopped off at the pub and had an all nighter and has woken up on a ferry or something.

I mean, there are worse things to wake up to eh, but this is a pain hahah. Thankfully I work from home so it's not like I have to plan around it!

Yeah, I think I agree with your way of thinking! Gives me a chance to really have a good initial feel for it too 🤓
