I agree. I saw this on Amazon which might pair nicely with the braided black cable you get on the Space Black Pro?

Me too! I have the folio case but might return that now and get the Keyboard.

Think I will keep folio for when I may want to use it but the trackpad size seems even more noticeable from last years. It looks a good size

Not as big as Mac but enough of a difference. I didn’t like the size on the last one as it was too small

Just tried out the Pro very briefly at the O2 store and honestly the display doesn't look like anything special. I think I might just order the Air now and save myself the buyer's remorse.

I've got both coming so will be assessing the difference and deciding which I like best. Anything is going to look better than my 2017 Pro though...........

Update: placed an order for a blue 128GB 13-inch iPad Air and a black Magic Keyboard. Picking it up in John Lewis tomorrow afternoon

Yeah I'm still using a 2014 Air so the difference between that and the new Air will be night and day

I was thinking about getting an iPad Mini (6th Gen) for when I'm out and about as its so portable. However, this 13" iPad is so light I just might invest in an 11" version too!
Would you want cellular for out and about use, and if so, is having the physical sim slot important to you? If so, then you should probably grab a Mini 6 now as judging by the new Pros and Airs, the next generation will be e-sim only. If not, then by all means get the 11” (or wait to see what the Mini 7 offers spec wise) as the Mini 6 now has the same RAM as the base iPad.

John Lewis have now reduced a couple of their 2022 iPads.

2022 Air 256gb wifi only - down £200 to £649 but of course 2024 model 'only' £50 more at £699 - no thanks!

2022 Pro 12.9" 256 down to £1349 (wifi and cell) is a bit more attractive compared to the £1499 on the equivalent 2024 model.

This was my original plan (to pick up a 2022 Air at discount) but given I also get educational discount I got the 2024 Air for £649 (and the Pro for £100 discount).

Mine arrived about an hour ago by Royal Mail and the postie just put it through the post box! 🤣
Taking the chargers out has obviously meant the packages being too thin…

I would be furious if that happened to even a base iPad or AirPods. Someone would think it was Christmas if they got the wrong house.

The rumours before launch about the Pros being in short supply due to manufacturing/yield problems with the OLED screens, particularly the 11" one, appear to have been totally wrong. I'm setting off in about an hour to pick up my 11" Pro from my nearest Apple Store. I pre-ordered the one I'm about to pick up immediately after the Apple presentation finished but I just checked and I could have done a simple walk-in today at the same store and picked up either the 11" or the 13" Pro in the same black 256GB WiFi-only configuration as I rushed to order on announcement day.

After always having smaller iPads I went for 12.9" for the first time with my M1 iPad Pro on launch day however many years ago that was but never really got on with it. To my surprise I didn't get blown away by the bigger screen vs my previous 11" Pro, I didn't feel that different to me, but the extra size and particularly the weight did bug me. I will have a play with the new 13" in store this afternoon though to see if the weight and thickness reductions make it feel more acceptable to me and if yes then I just might do an in-store upgrade and stick with the bigger size.

Wish I was brave enough to go without a screen protector. Applied one and immediately want to remove it to get the full benefit of OLED blacks

Never used a screen protector on an iPad and no intentions of doing so now. Always use a 3rd party folio case and that has protected the screen well. Only damage I got on the screen of a previous iPad was when I loaded a came for the cat (mouse chase thing) and he scratched the screen. It also sent him loopy looking under the iPad for the mouse so uninstalled it.
