For anyone still thinking of trade in… curry’s are offering £550 for a 2021 128GB 5G variant. that’s what I sold mine for last week privately. Thought I’d let you know :)

How many of you guys buying the Magic Keyboard? I can't decide. Have my MacBook Pro for typing but I suppose the MKB would be nice?
I am getting one. I have one on my 2020 IPP and it makes so more productive.

I have a MBA (M1) and I really want to ditch that completely so keyboard is must have for me.

Whatever iPad I get these days would be substantial upgrade as my last iPad was the original Air from 2013. Which I stopped using about 2019/20. The Pro is finally about the same size and weight as that.

I am upgrading my 2018 iPad Pro which has lasted well. With foldable iPads coming now well will this new iPad last? Will it last another six years with minor updates of this model?

So, this the second time this has happened, first it was with the iPhone 15 Pro preorder and now with the iPad Pro releasing next week.

That is I preordered the iPhone 15 Pro and it seemed to go through, the next day I wake up and it’s been declined, I get hold of the bank (HSBC UK) and they say nothing has been blocked, I try redoing the order and changing payment method and the verification box doesn’t even load and is just a blank box with a rotating circle below it, or if it does load it comes back Authorisation failed, and so I get no where then all of a sudden some days later the order goes through and the money is taken and I got my phone.

Yesterday I preordered one of the new iPad Pro’s and it went through but I wake up today and it’s the same thing again, it’s declined, check with bank, nothing, I try redoing the payment method, it fails and on it goes.

What is going on, never had an issue preordering Apple devices before this and the same payment method works if I buy stuff from Apple that is already available including through the Apple Store app, it’s only preorders that don’t work properly it seems.

So I have no idea now if the money will be taken in a few days and I will get my purchase or not, it’s infuriating, anyone have the same problem?

Out of interest did you pay via ApplePay, Sounds exactly like the issue I had earlier. It was HSBC as well

Yes I did actually, any idea what’s going on? Have you done anything that sorted it? Apple Pay with the same HSBC credit card works on everything else just fine.

Ok, so just preordered a 13 inch Pro 256Gb in the Space Black from John Lewis and being delivered on launch day 😍🥳

I used John Lewis as I can purchase e-gift vouchers for them via my employer’s benefits portal which gives me a very nice discount 👌

Not 100% sure about fitting a screen protector or not. All my devices have them fitted but I will be adding AppleCare+ to the iPad so I’m undecided for now. Luckily, my wife fits them as she somehow manages to get an absolutely perfect fit and finish EVERY time…bless her! 🥰

Holding off from buying the new Magic Keyboard for now as I tend to use my iPad on my lap on my sofa with AirPods (usually watching YouTube) whilst she watches another ‘must see’ tv programme…such as Coronation Street! 🫣

The new Pencil Pro will undoubtedly be a future purchase along with a Smart Folio case 💷💷💷

Roll on next Wednesday 👍

I spoke to HSBC and they said it was defo not them blocking the payment and that it was Apple’s side.
When I was on the phone with the Apple CS rep he said it’s a ApplePay issue, probably ApplePay limits stopping it.
He did a manual payment over the phone, First one failed by a fraud alert and I received a notification in the HSBC app if I made the payment. Once I clicked yes, got a notification all restrictions were lifted. Second try went through fine with no issue

Maybe this has already been mentioned but the Smart Folio cases are already available for pickup in Apple stores!

My Apple Pay has a limit, but, my bank will not tell me that limit! Which is just ridiculous as it means I have to carry my physical bank card with me (if I am paying for anything substantial) just in case.

It was my understanding that AP has no limit - it’s just what your bank decides - which is fine if you can set the limit or know it. Early days of AP I paid for my car to be serviced (£1600) went through with no problems, since then it has been declined for lesser amounts.

My iPad is my main computing device. I use it for video editing, photo editing, all the general stuff and use the Apple Pencil everyday for work (just writing notes, but keeps everything organised and easy to find).

I currently have the 2018 11” Pro. I’ve held off this long as wanted the display tech from the larger device on the 11”. However, for some reason, when I ordered I couldn’t help but go for the bigger, 13” device. I’ve had the 12.9 before, which I sold after a number of months as I also had the Magic Keyboard, I found that case quite restrictive with me taking notes a lot of the time. The Logitech Combo case is the best if you also like to use your device lying flat.

I’ve therefore went 13” black, 1TB (wanted 512GB but when I found out you only got the full M4 & 16GB RAM starting at 1TB, I reluctantly went for the 1TB). Logitech Combo case and Apple Pencil Pro.

Delivery date 15th.

It's definitely Apple. Same problem, different bank and I'm in PL, not UK.

I put a preorder through their phone helpdesk (where I had to hand them all my card info... in 2024), I was said everything went smoothly and 1 day later when they actually tried to charge me as order was meant to be prepared for shipping - Declined email. Just like you I've been using the card for successful orders in the past. Called them to ask what's the problem and they had no clue actually, I gave them my card info again and it got declined. Apple can't charge, bank says they aren't blocking a thing... but they see declined transaction attempts due to lack of CVV digits.

Trying to pay in the web panel doesn't trigger MasterCard's 3D Secure checkup. That special CC payment authorization website after placing an order doesn't load, it's blank with infinite loading animation - just like for you. When it did after 3-4th attempt and I successfully approve - Apple still declines.

I gave up, cancelled the order, used my iPad to make another order myself on their website and

1) ApplePay attached to the previously used card - DECLINED with "Error" information.
2) CC payment - magically WORKED and order went through without any problems, got charged immediately.
