FRANCIS - Why did I call him Desmond ? Doh[/QUOTE]

I was sitting here thinking ‘I’m sure it wasn’t
Desmond, was it Bernard??’ .. thanks for helping me be able to sleep tonight !!!

walk-in trader like CEX
I’ll be doing a family shuffle with our phones, meaning that my dad’s phone (a 6S) will become surplus to requirements and I want to sell it. I will also potentially have an iPhone 6 (father-in-law’s phone) and a Series 3 Watch if my willpower caves on the S5, which is seeming more likely with every new review...

So, I might end up with two phones and a watch to trade, total value maybe £400+. If I take the ‘cash’ option how do they pay-out? Actual cash, funds transfer or something else?

I’ve never sold anything to CEX, but it seems an easy option...

assume the worse and compare the price you get for a walk-in trader like CEX or GAME?

Any screen protector for 11 pro that you would suggest? I find the Belkin that Apple installs super expensive, tempted for this, any views?
I used this brand for my XS Max and have a couple spare to use for the 11 Pro Max https://amzn.to/2LEQQrX

Comes with that handy plastic frame/holder too and lots of wipes :)

Same here going from an X to an 11 pro max, which I do regret doing. The only reason I am is as I can still get a good cash value for my 256 X. I also normally upgrade every 2 years.

The way I'm looking at this is that it means when I upgrade next year (will have to go to a 1 year upgrade as next years phone will actually be different...) I’ll be able to trade my pro max in for hopefully around the 700 mark and then only have around 300 or so to pay for the 12, instead of holding out another year on my X, the value decreasing more and then having to pay more next year.

There really is just nothing inciting about the 11 or 11 pros. Other than the camera and battery you’d find it hard to find something new or interesting about them. Hell they don’t even have 5G.

But here I am waiting for Friday still

Surely your new 11 Pro will depreciate more this year than your X will? I too have an X 256 which is now worth about £450, yours (and mine) new 11 Pro will lose £5-600 this year?

I've kept most phones for two years before, but went from 7+ to X after a year for FaceID and the same sized screen in a similar handset size, I think this is a smaller benefit after two years than normal, but I'd already saved the money in my Chip account and life is short ... I'm also telling myself that a Max will be a worthwhile change for a bigger screen.

Also, battery:

Fully expect to be here again in 12-months & fingers crossed for a new shape and 5G too please.

I know I should know this but do I need a new sim for the 11 Pro? (if buying outright via Apple)

I currently have an X - are the sim cards for the 11 Pro the same size? I thought I read somewhere that they are different but not sure am imagining that now!

In store at least they just give you cash from the till. Though I have heard stories of people saying they run out of cash fairly quickly...

Not sure of the process if you're doing it online.

FWIW I've never had any issues buying or selling through Cex.

They pay cash if they have enough for you. Otherwise, it's BACS payment.

You'll need ID to sell to them.

Try and have the boxes, chargers and leads as they'll knock a bit off their price to supplement with their own stock.

Seems the 256GB Max in Midnight Green is a popular option - it's the only max variant not available for Saturday delivery with Amazon - https://amzn.to/2LV8BC6

I've gone for 64GB- but feeling same potential use limitations as when the 16GB base model was still around...

I purchased a 64GB X and have regretted it ever since, that’s why this time I’ve gone 256GB instead. Though really 128GB would have been enough but no option for that in the Pro phones.

I have the the 256GH X but not sure I ever used more than 64gb since increased cloud storage. If any problems hopefully Ill notice in first couple of weeks and can exchange for a 256gb in the return period.

I have a gold reserved for Friday on the upgrade programme but wanted the green. If I get the gold do you think I’d be able to exchange it for a green within the 14 days?

Thanks guys. Sounds like Mazuma or similar is easiest for the phones. They aren’t worth a huge amount.

I'm selling my iPhone 8+ 64GB to Mazuma for £315. I've used them before. Music Magpie were offering the same amount, but for some reason I liked the sound of Mazuma more when I was deciding which one to go with.

I just phoned EE and she checked her system and no iPhone orders have been sent by DPD yet so the guy who said his friend has received his is lying.

She said she can see the stock on the system now and it shows as mine being delivered on Friday 20th.
[doublepost=1568816205][/doublepost]
I prefer to just pay DPD an extra £10 to deliver to me first

Well you can believe what you want! I know for a fact dpd have delivered a phone if you want to take what a carrier says as gospel be my guest

Mines is out for delivery today to be delivered in store through EE ..although I feel I may need to change my plan.
