Damn, my Royal Mail special delivery Postie comes around at 08:30am! Doubt DPD will be that efficient for Apple.

ouch sounds like you didn't do the IUP route? did you have to confirm your payment details when you did it?

my IUP checkout process was just picking the model, store and time.
[doublepost=1568803339][/doublepost]
how did you get to reserve the phone under IUP? I put some screenshots in the first post of this thread showing the steps I went through at least.

was it the same?

I believe I did follow your steps JinJin. I don't recall confirming payment details but of course there is a payment card linked to my account - I picked model store and time and boom it was done. I do recall it being quick and abrupt but I honestly didn't think it was possible anymore to pre order to store unless you were planning to pay via IUP or IP. I thought all 'orders' to store were paid for in store at collection in case as Dino states below - you do not turn up!

....what a load of *'#%?!?!!

That's not how IUP works.......:eek:o_O

At no stage during iUP Reservations do you provide payment details - you literally reserve the phone and sort the payments out in store. Heck, you can even change your mind and not turn up - what are they gonna do, keep your 'Pre-Authorization' fee.....?!!!

Exactly!

Well I've clearly done something wrong and of course I cannot test the system !

It's no biggie and thankfully at least I have plenty of available credit on my card but my initial panic of thinking there was fraud on my card (which I did have about 6 years ago and bank were massively incompetent at sorting out) was followed by how do I pay for my iPhone on Friday if I don't do IUP or are declined!!

I think I may know what I did wrong now..............I think I should have clicked the bit I circled in red!

yes - thats what i did with my second order. Silly tiny little link!

Quite liking my XR - general size is ok, but it is noticably thicker and heavier than my X (which was already pretty heavy). Think I'll like the 11 just fine

Is it at all possible the review units ran on an earlier build of iOS 13 than will be loaded onto customer devices? I’d like to think so, if it is as buggy as a couple of reviews have said, bit of wishful thinking on my part...

I like to laugh at Yodel but actually they've been better in recent time (in my experience).

BUt hey need to share

This is real footage of an 11 Pro Max case getting delivered ;)

Also this must have been an iPhone 7

that's exactly it.. easy to miss!

there might have been a link through the the main IUP page.. I'll check

If it was me I wouldn’t upgrade from an XS unless you was doing it for other reasons like going from a regular model to plus

I’m personally going from a X to 11 Pro Max
I don’t really see it as a major upgrade even with 2 generation gap but I really wanna go back to the plus size model

Same here going from an X to an 11 pro max, which I do regret doing. The only reason I am is as I can still get a good cash value for my 256 X. I also normally upgrade every 2 years.

The way I'm looking at this is that it means when I upgrade next year (will have to go to a 1 year upgrade as next years phone will actually be different...) I’ll be able to trade my pro max in for hopefully around the 700 mark and then only have around 300 or so to pay for the 12, instead of holding out another year on my X, the value decreasing more and then having to pay more next year.

There really is just nothing inciting about the 11 or 11 pros. Other than the camera and battery you’d find it hard to find something new or interesting about them. Hell they don’t even have 5G.

But here I am waiting for Friday still

I gave up the idea to buy the new iphone 11 pro 256GB. Couldn't move on forward for the exchange rate $1 = £1.05 Apple was asking. Also after seeing yesterday's reviews, examples, specs etc.
Bought instead another LG V50 yesterday. :D The phone is for my wife as she broke her s10 and her birthday is coming.
I still think 11 Pro is a best buy, but only if you live in US.
And also I'm MORE CONVINCED that the regular 11 is a SCAM! (who uses LCD with 720p in the 3rd millenium with bad viewing angles and white background instead of BLACK, assuming you set up a black background??? I know they are millions, but I don't want to be a part of that millions!)

I’ve not had proof yet but a friend has just received his EE order ‍♂️

I’m sure last year a few here got them a day or two early

So after my chat with EE and ordering a sim to be delivered to my work address I got a text to say they had changed the address on my account!! Gave them a call this time, spoke to a guy in Darlington who checked my order. Says its been picked which is a good sign and is on its way to DPD. He didn't want to guarantee it but he said Friday delivery is very likely. Latest would be Monday.

My mate works for o2 and just said their retail iPhone 11's have all been delivered today.
Big box of shiney new phones and watches that can't be touched until Friday.

He said they only have 3 pre-orders. So loads of them are available for same day walk in walk out. :)

My logic was going from a 7 Plus to a 11 Pro was that I get a smaller phone with a bigger screen than my old Plus model, win win as far as I can tell, especially as the non Plus/Max model now doesn't have better cameras than the smaller ones.

You would think that but the screen win the non Max iPhones are only as wide as the old iPhone 7 and the viewport is narrower so you lose a significant portion of the display. I found this out the hard way going from an iPhone 7 Plus to the X. I have been on Max phones since.

Anyones order on o2 status’s changed from ‘in progress’ yet?

Nope. Last year it didn't change till the Thursday night.

As much as I'm enjoying the zero stress of having a collection slot at 8:30am on Friday, I'll admit I do miss some of the suspense of waiting for payment to be taking, checking status on the website, then tracking the poor DPD bloke all day as he makes his deliveries before, inevitably, visiting you last.

Don't forget Apple.com's UK prices include sales tax (i.e. VAT) but don't include US sales tax, so divide the UK price by 1.2 for a fairer comparison.

Yeah I might regret it and be back on Max soon... as most video I watch on the phone has black bars top/bottom anyway, I might not care.

I just phoned EE and she checked her system and no iPhone orders have been sent by DPD yet so the guy who said his friend has received his is lying.

She said she can see the stock on the system now and it shows as mine being delivered on Friday 20th.

I prefer to just pay DPD an extra £10 to deliver to me first

On the topic of set up as new or transfer data, is there any advantage to set up as new other than pruning of unused apps etc?

I have my phone in good order in terms of being tidy/trimmed of unnecessary apps/pics etc, but just wondering if there’s some ‘unseen’ advantage to setting up as new i.e. not pulling through old temp files or whatever?
