So just updated my iPhone X to iOS 13 to compare the dark mode

Just take the below picture which seems the best comparison on blacks

However on the home screen the iPhone 11 is definitely brighter

Rhinoshield is a bit of a rabbit hole if you start looking at it. Thought about the bumper as an alternative to a clear case, then started looking at nice custom back plates. Then started thinking ‘oh for this backplate it’s be good to have different coloured buttons to match

are rhinoshield bumpers good?

Well my experience with car phone warehouse today was appalling.

I knew I should have just gone to my local town one but I happened to be in a different town and went in to trade my iPhone XS 64GB whilst was there (Bracknell)

The guy looked at my phone and said instantly “it has a couple of thin scratches”.

Huh? The back, sides are absolutely mint. The scratches he referred to are Whisper sub hair line thin and tiny small - I couldn’t even take a photo that showed them!

He struggled to even show me them!

He then said “do you intend to buy a new phone today ?” To which I replied no.

He then offered me £115 lol for an XS !

I kid you not.

He said “its damaged” so this is all I can do. I showed him the quote from their own website offering 520 for a working phone. Apparently his interpretation of “working” was as good as brand new (perfect). Any less is damaged, no matter how small.

What an idiot.

I gave the guy an earful of deserved abuse and left.

Will try tomorrow in my local one where I previously traded in a phone just fine. Apparently Vodafone stores take trade ins too.

a friend of mine said it’s a classic scam. Bad employee offers really low trade ins to people then either buys it themselves to sell on massively discounted or trades it in themselves at the higher “working” price afterwards.

Avoid this store (Bracknell)

On another note , whilst I’m loving the screen on my 11 Max , I’m not too impressed with the weight.

Just typing the message above on the sofa , and my little finger that sits under the phone whilst I hold it is aching.

Too heavy.

and iOS13 is buggy. (Some notifications going awol). Hoping 13.1 fixes it.

Yes I’ve noticed some of my notifications not appearing on my phone. I’m hoping 13.1 fixes it.

same story here, went to the CPW store in London (oxford street) and was offered exactly the same amount because of a dead pixel that he struggled to show me. I just traded mine in at O2 for £490, which is less than CPW but I just wanted to be done with it.

There’s seems to be plenty of stock around in most stores.

Check the reservation page.. will open from 6am tomorrow.

thanks, do you have to pay upfront to reserve it?

No payment upfront. Just reserve and pick a slot for the store. The last two days I just did a random check for a pro 256gn midnight green and all the London stores had them for pick up that day

ok great... just to confirm - I can take back my space grey 11 pro with box and accessories (haven’t touched them) and exchange for the midnight green no questions asked?

I think you just need to keep scrolling down and eventually you come to hairstyles more typical for a man. There doesn’t seem to be an explicit gender association.

sadly no change in hairstyles.. I can’t believe I’m the only one with this issue!! Typical!!

well look on the bright side mate that I have no money and two marked as sold phones that I can’t do anything with due to CPW systems crashing!!!!

that said the guy in store (Watford) was amazing and gave us maximum value instantly for our phones....just need to actually get it now :D

So after many years using only android phones, I've finally jump ship and ordered the iPhone 11 Pro max 256gb Space Grey delivery tomorrow :):apple:

Welcome to the club, it’s always fun having new toys to play with. Particularly for you, if you’re not used to iPhones.

I have the same delivery date as you, in fact I’ve dragged myself out of bed at 6:30 because deliveries start at 7:00. So you can all but guarantee it’ll arrive sometime after 16:00 :D
