Can anybody explain how simple it is to return my phone to the Apple store and exchange it?

had the pro max for a few days now and the size just isn’t practical for me so want to go back down to just a normal Pro size.

do I have to actually buy a new iPhone and get my current iPhone refunded onto my card, or will they just exchange for me in store and refund me the £100 difference?

the only thing used in the box is the charger, the headphones etc are still in the little cardboard thing they come in. Is this all okay?

thanks for any advice!

I’m sure they’ll do it that way if that’s how you want it. Not problems if it’s been used, as long as it’s got no damage etc and within 14 days you’ll have no issues

So I essentially have to buy another phone as new and get my current phone refunded onto my card, good job it’s pay day on Friday.. are they refunds your normal 3-5 days from any past experience?

This is an obvious one but I’m guessing theyll retore my phone to new in front of me?

If they do the exchange then it will be the difference in phones you’ll get back.

Yep the usual 3-5 working days

Yes, I did that when I took back my burner xr. Did the wipe in front of them

On another note , whilst I’m loving the screen on my 11 Max , I’m not too impressed with the weight.

Just typing the message above on the sofa , and my little finger that sits under the phone whilst I hold it is aching.

Too heavy.

I've never understood why people hold their phones in this way (with pinky finger underneath)??!

When I had my iPhone 8 Plus (that phone was a beast in size!) I always held it (in my right hand) at a 45 degree angle (or even steeper than this) with the bottom right corner of the phone, digging into the fleshy part of my palm so the phone naturally rests in my palm and that corner is lodged in the palm so won't go anywhere - this enables use of the phone and screen without having to support it underneath with your pinky finger.

This is how I hold ALL my iPhones - none of that 'support the phone with pinky finger' ridiculousness......!!!

and iOS13 is buggy. (Some notifications going awol). Hoping 13.1 fixes it.

This is why I have held off updating my XS to iOS 13 - waiting for the bugs to be ironed out....

Is anyone else disappointed that their midnight green phone isn't very green?

....looks almost Space Grey in some photos!

Not at all - I like how subtle it is. To the naked eye it sometimes seems grey but put next to an actual space grey model, they’re noticeably different. I love the almost teal colour it appears when the light catches it.

I’m not, I actually like it even more than I thought I would, it looks even better in person than on the pictures/videos imo. Definitely one of the best looking iPhones ever released if you asked me.

Has anyone ever taken a phone out on IUP and returned it? How easy is it to do?

I did last year a few times! My first phone had nick out the box on the bezel and then the second time I changed my mind about the max and downsized.

Standard refund process both times but you then need to redo the IUP process again for the new phone. Pretty sure they mark the application as and “exchange” so it doesn’t look like you’re applying multiple times.

Had no issues with any of it

My other half received an email about a special student offer (my son has just started college this month) whereby for an iPhone 11 (64Gb), on EE with unlimited texts and calls and 50Gb data, it's just £46 a month (2 year contract) which I think is pretty good.

He's currently on Giffgaff (he's got an old iPhone 6) with a £20 Goodybag (Unlimited texts, calls & 40Gb data) but I guess it's easy enough to request a PAC code these days to move over to EE (the offer links to a student website where you can even input the PAC code so they sort out the porting process).

Had a look on the IUP and also iPhone Payments Programs but both would work out more expensive that the £46 a month student offer (no upfront fee for phone either).....

Amazon just emailed to say there is an unspecified delay to my delivery. Shame as I like the structure of their payment plan and I don't believe they do a credit check for it

I’m with the previous poster, my phones always rest on my pinkie when I hold them, just habit I suppose, my hand just naturally goes to that position.
I’ve never found it to be a problem though, one of those times when having pit-shovel hands comes in, well, handy :p
I can easily wrap my hands completely round the + iPhones and reach all of the screen. Though this will be my first Max iPhone (I got the X when it came out and the s year devices last year just didn’t float my boat enough to upgrade). So we’ll see how I cope with the 11 Pro Max, maybe my grip will change.

Virgin Mobile are pretty good too. I got my dads phone with them last year. I noticed this year there’s a deal much like the one you mentioned from EE, except you don’t need to be a student.

iPhone 11 Pro 64GB, 50GB data and unlimited everything else for £50 a month, with free AirPods.
Or the Pro Max for an extra £5.

All with no upfront fees.

I know the coverage is good, they use the EE network, which is why I moved the wife to them too. I’d move over myself but I’ve a really good unlimited EE data (and everything else of course) plan that I doubt I’ll ever change from.

depends on your sim price and if they really need 40GB!?

apple doing 24 months 0% with £20 deposit so £29.99 per month

so if you can get a sim only plan for less than £16pm that’s cheaper than EE

Well... what a weekend. Been following this thread since the beginning, but had opted not to get the new iPhone and rebel against Apple lol even as a yearly upgrader, so ordered the Samsung Note 10+ 5g.... It arrived about 4pm on Friday and I instantly wasn't keen, Android is fine but Samsung's iteration is just awful.

But luckily I was meeting the girlfriend at the Apple Store at 5.30 as she was picking up the purple 11.

I wasn't expecting any stock but by 6pm I had the 11 Pro Max 256GB SG in my hand 😁

Till next year 👌
