so confusing - lots of different places to get to seemingly the same place, but all called different things.

I have two reservations which I guess are just both for pickup, but I did one through the app, and one through the website. Both have sent completely different emails to me. The App has an order number, says it is 'processing', and has a receipt email that shows my debit card number (last 4 digits) and price as though its charging me although I did collection. The website order is just a 'you're all set' and a QR code along with my appointment time.

I daren't cancel one of those in case the other one is somehow messed up. Are they the same thing?

Sounds like you bought one and reserved one! If you’re reserving for iup your card won’t even come into play

and so it begins..

  • Spigen Liquid Crystal, Designed for iPhone 11 Case (2019)
    Delivery date: 15 Sept. 2019
  • Ringke Fusion Designed for iPhone 11 Case Cover, Clear Back Shockproof TPU Bumper Phone Case for iPhone 11
    Delivery date: 15 Sept. 2019
  • MoKo Compatible with iPhone 11
  • Delivery date: 15 Sept. 2019

Last time I did this with the X, I had a drawer full of cheap clear cases and ended up settling on the apple brown leather case :D
Can you give us a mini review when they arrive? Just been looking at these

Just rang EE to inquire about no email confirmation and they said they would waive the £100 costs which I already paid so I’m in credit and won’t pay next months bill...

but had to re-order it but still says will get it on 20/09

That said still no order email confirmation

honestly I just cannot get over how bloody awful they ALL are at this!!!!

it’s hardly rocket science and you should email the CEO about it!! Only way to get things done IMO

Thanks for this. Got the clear case from them.

Good price, looks like it’s time limited ‘introductory offer’

With my corporate perks offer (10%) that takes the clear case to £40.80. JL is £36 +£3.50 standard delivery.

Think I’ll stick to checking them all over in person on Friday

Edit: Just realised that this might only be on offer to Amazon Prime account holders - if you don't have Prime, its only about £8 a month, and you can cancel anytime.

That could possibly be true, I’m a Prime member and saw the option to pay in instalments. Definitely takes away a bit of the initial sting of paying in full whilst not dragging out the payments for a year or two with a network contract.

Yip, the new Iphones have been loaded on amazon. Even the midnight green for first day delivery
https://amzn.to/32EHHoT

I’m sure there will be a price drop soon. Up to 10 or 15 percent.

What gets me is that often apple itself is the most expensive place to buy their goods, while they allow other retailers to discount. For eg brand new AirPods with the wireless case for 169 instead of 199. https://amzn.to/2Lwy1Hd

....you know what, I’m DONE!

I’m not prepared to swap my XS for the far inferior iPhone 11 (build-wise, material wise, spec wise AND screen wise) and upgrading to the 11 Pro just adds an additional £4 a month to my monthly payments on IUP - something else I’m not prepared to do..... Additionally, switching to iPhone Payments will make it that little bit more difficult for me to upgrade this time next year (not sure I’d be willing to sell privately as don’t actually have a spare phone I could use in the interim).

I’m sticking to my initial plan and holding off this year - just cancelled my iPhone 11 reservation.

And, NO, I’m not changing my mind!!

I AM. DONE for this year!
:)

isn’t a pro ‘only’ £50 more than the XS was? So should be £2.50pm more than the XS (£50 / 20).

selling privately can mean just using a service like music magpie - you get 14 days to send the phone out so you can time the sale to overlap and you’re not without a phone.

I am wondering about payments vs IUP. £29.99 with £20 deposit (so £49 initially) and £30 per month, vs £69 first payment then £40pm but with Apple care which might mean i’m More likely to feel comfortable going naked in public.

am I right in thinking IUP charges you the £40 from month 2 onwards? It’s not £69 + £40 all at once?

doh - if so i’ll Be able to get a refund in store? Just that possibly bought one is an 8:30 collection vs my reservation of 12:30 so the earlier would be better but I want IUP or payments

Ended up not sending off to Music Magpie in the end and sold my XS Max to a good friend of mine.

He matched the £750 that Music Magpie quoted me with no messing about and the cash is now in my account. He's got one helluva deal, especially as I was happy to also give him the remaining 1 year of AppleCare, so I can walk away guilt-free if anything happens.

Thanks for this. Looks like the discount is across the board on all models. Thinking of picking up the silicone case at £36 vs £45 from Apple
Ah this is annoying I’ve just taken delivery of mine direct from Apple for £55! As I bought off the Apple store and had delivered to my house, is it simply a case of not opening it and I can return it in store on Friday when I pick the phone up? Assuming they don’t price match... then I can order off JL, even with the £3.25 delivery it’s avout £8 cheaper, makes the £1149 spent on the phone not so bad...

Yes.

if u wanted to- you could open and use it and then return for full refund within 14 days.

once I had to return a sealed phone to the Apple store - they said their policy was to open it up anyway in front of me to make sure all was fine inside

Valid enough for me when my daughter dropped my Xs on concretesmashing what I though was the screen. Luckily it was just the screen protector and the case that took the brunt, phone was perfect

Fair enough, may I ask you how old was she at the time and why was she holding your phone in the first place? I’m assuming she was playing a game or smth, but like I said you have to be smart about things like these...

I honestly wouldn’t mess about over £8 lol.

Well, today I'm back to sticking with my XS Max. Worked out that the upgrade would cost me £800. And for what? A new colour phone (that I won't see as it'll be ion a case). Don't care a monkeys about the camera. So, no. Not upgrading.

However, it is Saturday and tonight alcohol will be consumed so do not be surprised if the above changes!!!

Don’t drink during preorder week!

You’ll have a new phone, watch and a selection of bands when you wake up

Very true, it’s happend to me before, not on the preorder week, but just randomly got drunk and ordered HomePod, that I didn’t actually need at the time, as good as it was(amazing sound) I sold it months after.
