On the note of screen protectors and cases. I swear by these: I always get the thin clear ESR case from Amazon and this year trying the screen protectors too as they fully cover the notch. I’ve had the same case for the full year and serves me well. Also very affordable got 20-30% coupons off as well atm. Check out the brand! ESR. I’ve also had the cables from them too.

I usually go for the Belkin ones to however they are very pricey and yes I know they last long and they are great but just need something a bit more affordable this year. And to be honest most screen protector brands now have an alignment frame that comes with it

I agree. I’ve been using the ESR clear case and full coverage glass screen protector with my 11 Pro Max. I did drop my phone a few months ago and cracked the screen protector and didn’t want to wait for another one to arrive in the post so I bought one of the Belkin ones from the Apple store. I’ve just ordered and received the ESR clear case and full coverage glass screen protector for the 12 Pro Max. Just waiting to pre-order and get my phone now.

Copied and pasted from MacRumors:

AppleCare‌+ can now be added to a device up to one year from purchase, and this applies to iPhones, iPads, Macs, iPods, HomePods, Beats (minus urBeats3 and Pill+), AirPods, AirPods Pro, Apple Watches, and the Pro Display XDR. Basically all devices that offer ‌AppleCare‌+, with the exception of the Apple TV, which already offers a one-year standard ‌AppleCare‌ purchase plan option.

For up to 60 days after the date of purchase of a device, ‌AppleCare‌+ can be purchased using the Settings section of the iPad, iPhone, or iPod, via the Apple Support app, the Apple Support site, or Checkcoverage.Apple.Com for Apple Watch, HomePod, ‌iPhone‌, ‌iPad‌, iPod, and Mac. It can also be purchased through a contact center or an Apple retail store.

After 60 days has passed (and before 365 days), ‌AppleCare‌+ can be purchased by taking a device to an ‌Apple retail‌ location with a Genius Bar appointment for an inspection, which is required to get coverage after the 60 day mark. If a device has any accidental damage during the inspection, it needs to be repaired before ‌AppleCare‌+ can be purchased.

yes I saw this but see different info for UK

  1. Purchase AppleCare+ with your new iPhone.
  2. Or buy it within 60 days of your iPhone purchase:
    • On your device (go to Settings > General > About and choose AppleCare+ Coverage Available)
    • Online (requires you to verify your serial number and run a remote diagnostic)
    • At an Apple Store (inspection of iPhone and proof of purchase are required)
    • By calling 0800 107 6285 (requires you to run a remote diagnostic and provide proof of purchase)

Last year I got an iPhone 11 Pro with EE, so I still have a year left of my contract. I want to go back to sim only eventually so purchased the iPhone 12 Pro from Apple.

My EE plan is 4G only, so thought I'd call them and see what the damage would be to upgrade to 5G... it was £8 extra per month, however I've gone from 100GB data to unlimited 5G data and it now includes an extra perk (I chose Apple Music), so I'm now £2 better off each month, with unlimited data and 5G.

My plan end date stayed the same (Sep 2021) which is when I'll then switch to sim-only. Can't stand these huge monthly payments.

They asked me to pay £450 to upgrade to sim-only 5G plan! Can you just add on 5G?

Yes, sorry, I can see that the Apple UK website appears to make no mention of the 1 year period. Perhaps a call to the number quoted might provide the answer.

May be it is different topic.

I got Apple TV in August and in Apple store app, it suggests to add Apple coverage. I am not sure 1 year grace period applies to phone though.

So I am debating whether to pre order through virgin mobile since I’m already with them or to just pay off and move to a different provider. As far as I’m aware virgin mobile don’t even have 5G yet do they? Who am I best off going with?

Can't get EE student discount to work, putting the code in 'gift voucher, but get

Sorry, that voucher’s not valid

it won’t work I called them and mentioned it was told £20 is already discounted so student and perks discount aren’t available and they wouldn’t budge on the £20
