I’m getting my 15PM MagSafe clear case delivered today.

I know we’ve all seen these before, but don’t think there’s been one in this year’s thread...

So - I am happy to take a couple of pics for anyone who 1) hasn’t seen a MagSafe case or 2) wants something case-related to look at and discuss later.

Pop a like on this post if either apply 😅

pretty sure my MBP came via DHL from China and not the usual UPS. The DHl tracking from China is a bit pants.

you see it leave the Far East and then radio silence until its somewhere in Europe

What a coincidence, I was also their 100th warranty register! 🤣. Waiting on my free £25 gift to arrive.
Mine arrived next day! The protector goes for about £22 so can’t complain. Did they ask you to review the case aswell? I said I can’t until I’ve actually used it!

so anyone else going to be setting their phone to not charge over 80% so that the phone battery doesn't degrade to 80%? 😂

bizarre setting

Bit concerned with the reports of worse battery life and overheating. Camera improvements don’t seem amazing either.

I suppose coming from my current iPhone X it should still be a significant upgrade anyway.

Ended up ordering my phone through a salary sacrifice scheme at work. Order being fulfilled by select (never heard of them). Could be that I miss launch day this time but will have to wait and see.

It’s not. It’s a proven way to maintain the health of your battery. EVs have had it for years and Apple devices do it when they figure out your charging pattern (poorly).

Charging above 80% is only recommended when you’re immediately going to start discharging it, letting a battery sit with a high state of charge isn’t good for its health.

Well I'm, all set. Just waiting on the dispatch details now.

oh I know about the benefits of charging up to 80% SoC and with EVs too (a lot comes down to cost vs efficiency of how more time and energy it takes to get from 80-100% compared to 0-80% SoC)

but my unclear point was if anyone was going to limited themselves to 80% of the battery on their phone... I can't say I've had a phone long enough where they battery health has got anywhere near 80%.. and if it ever did in the 2 years I had apple care, it would be getting a battery replacement.

the reality is I'll have this phone for 11months before the 16 and I'll be using all the battery benefits I'm paying for from the pro max.

if this phone is a 'keeper' for 3 years+ then go for it, especially if you're happy to sacrifice a drop of 20% usage

Just an FYI, When I upgraded with EE a few years back I didn't get anything from DPD until 11:30 PM the night before launch for next-day delivery. So don't give up hope early tomorrow evening 😊
I’ve got a Spigen and a Torras here ready to go, but for some reason this year I’m inclined not to hide the phone as I feel the Natural Titanium is such a nice looking phone (I’ve had a black phone for years).

So I’m thinking the clear Spigen will be the winner for me.

I won't be as my 14Pro is still on 100% battery health after nearly 12 months use.
