Anyone else waiting for the Caudabe clear lucid case to come back into stock 😍
I wasn't for that specifically, but I'm definitely waiting for something! :)

But that said - I'm assuming you've had previous cases - can I ask how is the whole look with a clear case? I've always avoided them as I've just gone for black phones previously. This time, white titanium so thinking different.

Thanks :)

Had it on my 2020 MBP since early on. Battery still sucks now tbh.

Suspect for phones the next O/S update in a year will probably affect battery more than the little saving made by the 80% setting.

Just checking my Barclaycard and have noticed I’ve been charged twice! I then checked my email and I have two Apple orders one At 13:06 and one at 13:13.

The ordering was really screwed up and my pre-pre order timed out and I had to go through the order process manually, I had to try multiple times before the order went through, the whole thing was a massive s**t show and now here I am.

Probably just me, but check your orders people.

Bit concerned with the reports of worse battery life and overheating. Camera improvements don’t seem amazing either.

I suppose coming from my current iPhone X it should still be a significant upgrade anyway.

Don’t be! Coming from an X you’ll be blown away in all departments

I’ve got a Spigen and a Torras here ready to go, but for some reason this year I’m inclined not to hide the phone as I feel the Natural Titanium is such a nice looking phone (I’ve had a black phone for years).

So I’m thinking the clear Spigen will be the winner for me.View attachment 2270295View attachment 2270294

I just really don’t like the MagSafe rings on clear cases, The one thing that puts me off buying them

I usually start with a clear case then venture out to other designs later in the year ☺️ the Caudabe clear one looks very slick. Maybe not as protective but definitely one that will help show off that natural titanium 👌

Does anyone have photos of their xtremeskins? I'm thinking of trying the clear matt version. Are they slippy or do they help with grip?

oh I know about the benefits of charging up to 80% SoC and with EVs too (a lot comes down to cost vs efficiency of how more time and energy it takes to get from 80-100% compared to 0-80% SoC)

but my unclear point was if anyone was going to limited themselves to 80% of the battery on their phone... I can't say I've had a phone long enough where they battery health has got anywhere near 80%.. and if it ever did in the 2 years I had apple care, it would be getting a battery replacement.

the reality is I'll have this phone for 11months before the 16 and I'll be using all the battery benefits I'm paying for from the pro max.

if this phone is a 'keeper' for 3 years+ then go for it, especially if you're happy to sacrifice a drop of 20% usage

In terms of it being available on the latest iPhones it is 'odd' it's not been enabled on earlier models as it's a feature on my Series 7 Watch.

I didn’t like them either at first and it put me off initially from getting a clear MagSafe case but I typically only use clear cases so I bit the bullet and got one. I’ve pretty much got use to it and it doesn’t really bother me anymore.

I can imagine the optional 80% battery charge limit being useful to some people. Personally I don't get the point of it on a phone. If your toggling this setting on one would assume your also not draining the battery below 20% as well. In that case you've effective lost 40% of your phones battery capacity straight away.
Even if you keep phones long term and say hand them down to family it still makes more sense to just use the phone normally and replace the battery when required. A battery replacement on a 14 Pro/Max is £95, hardly excessive on a phone that costs over £1k
The setting makes more sense on EV's due to the cost and complexity of replacement. Your EV battery would cost thousands to replace compared to under £100 on a phone.

Just as many reviews are saying it's fine, same as last year or better. 17.1 (or whatever the first update is) might bring improvements as well.
Charging above 80% is only recommended when you’re immediately going to start discharging it, letting a battery sit with a high state of charge isn’t good for its health.
Dunno, my 14 Pro just gets put on (wired) charge overnight every night (with optimised battery charging on) and it's still at 100% health after a year, so I don't think it's a major worry for most people. I do still use an old 5W iPhone charger, mind you (no need for anything more as it's got plenty of time to charge) so the phone never gets hot while charging: I suspect that probably has a lot to do with it.

Agreed - that's what's always put me off. Shame they can't be available in different colours (eg. silver phone - silver rings)

This is it, I don't get why someone would go through 3 years of "pain" of having sub par battery for less than £100 - which is around 10% the cost of the phone. If money is that tight, then you can put aside £33 each year for three years and then get it changed when you hand the phone to someone else.

Get the battery changed after a few years, it's not that difficult.

Same here on charging overnight. Sometimes low power, sometimes I use my wife's iPad charger which is 20W.
Still 100% here. And that's an iPhone 13 mini, albeit not a full 2 years old.

I upgrade annually, my Husband every other year. Never been worried or had battery issues thus, we won't be using the 80% limit.
