I’ve read you can reserve as if purchasing through Barclays finance and then opt to pay in full in the store, is that correct?

Yo can just use the apple app or website. When you select the model you want, the order page shows you availability near you.

Previously John Lewis have had in-store stock on release day, I have bought from them that way a couple of times. One year there were horrendous queues outside Apple and John Lewis had piles of phones and no queue.

Apple care + proof of coverage come through now too. I have a serial number for my phone 😂

Miss the days of being able to know build week/factory at this point and fretting about whether we might be in a good or bad batch 😂

Add another disappointing MM experience.

Went to move my saved order to checkout. Basket says £680 - £20 kiosk fee, then “we’ll pay you £570..”

Even says in the summary £680…?…

£570 is the price today.

That's cruel and makes me nervous about my mini. Will buy a burner iphone to use for turure periods between selling my phone and waiting for a new one to arrive.

My dispatch email came through at 11.40. It didn’t indicate which courier. Clicking on the tracking link takes me to the Syncreon website. Clicking on the manage link tells me it’s DHL. I was hoping it would be DPD but no such luck. Hopefully the DHL delivery goes smoothly.

Buying iPhone on release day from Apple store is like getting blessed by the pope in Vatican.

I’ve managed to rock up and get one mid-morning a couple of times (the phone not the blessing).

Last year though I just kept an eye on the Apple Store app/website and randomly spotted and reserved/bought the one I wanted a day or two after launch. Going to wait and have a look at the display in-store this year before I decide though and then take my chances with stock levels.

For people with orders direct with Apple that have shipped with DPD. Does your delivery show up in the DPD app?

Mine do not which seems unusual from previous. If I click on track delivery on the order page it goes to DPD website and then tells me the details entered are incorrect.

Not overly worried yet as probably a scanning issue that will resolve once it it physically picked up.

Same for me. Mine is coming via DPD. Email from Apple at 11:33 with link to DPD website but I'm still getting the "Oops something went wrong" message 2 hours later. Hopefully it'll catch up eventually...!
