This changes everything..

I haven’t purchased the gift cards yet so I’m interested to see how this works if anybody does?
Pre-pre ordered with full amount to be paid from account balance. Doesn’t appear to have been ring fenced in any way though but will be one less option to select on Friday.

I’m a tad out of the loop, got my 14 Pro via Barclays finance last year. What’s the process to upgrade?

It looks like they no longer allow you to just upgrade and keep the finance going? Do I have to trade in and pay off the loan?

Does anyone know how many Apple Gift cards can be used in total/if they can be redeemed on apple account and used to pay for the phone in full?

I just redeemed mine for full amount

Apple don’t care what balance you hold

You don’t have to trade in and pay off but obviously you need to keep up the payments on the original loan as well as any new one.

that's right.. it will still only take payment from the card on Friday and get caught up in auto blocks etc

fingers crossed it sails through!

Thoughts on AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss cover?
I’m thinking of doing the 2-year upfront for £238 rather than my SoSure insurance policy at around £100 per year.

I’ve never done AppleCare+ on an iPhone before but I feel like it makes more sense.

No doubt that nothing beats AppleCare+ convenience, however, I consider the likes of Virgin Money M account to be better value in the UK. Covers all of your and the household gadgets (Laptop, Apple Watch, AirPods you name it) for a maximum of 2 mobile claims and 2 gadget claims per year with the excess for Phone being £75, Laptop/Tablet £50 and any other gadget £25 up to a maximum of £2000 per claim. In addition to this, you also get travel insurance (+ partner if living in the same household) and breakdown cover (for named account holders irrespective of whether you own the car or just happen to drive a different car).

If anyone has a Monzo card, would recommend using that to pay. I just know for a fact all the major banks will put on a hold for the payment causing panic! Also, if you're a Monzo member, they have flex payments where you can just split the cost across three payments all at 0% which I pretty much use for all my orders at Apple.

Done the pre-pre-order and was declined on the app, tried on the computer and says 'We need a little more time to review your application' however have had the agreement through on email, has that ever happened to anyone else?

Had iUP finance fine for the last 4 years so seems strange they would decline me!

If you are using gift cards and plan for AC+ you have to pay in full for the option of pay with gift card to appear.
