Hello, Can anyone confirm if the below is possible. Cant decide between 15PM Black vs Natural, want to do Barclays Finance, want to trade in my 11PM.

POA:
  • Order both Black and Neutral 15PM, don't declare trade in, pay in full from personal credit card
  • Collect in store and decide which one I want
  • Return unwanted one for refund
  • Return wanted one and purchase again instantly on finance and do the trade in
Will this work? Anybody done the same in previous years?
Not sure you can purchase the one you return as it doesn’t go back into their inventory stock I believe. Best bet would be to order both, choose which one you like and then return both but make sure you’ve reserved an iPhone for IUP early in the morning for store pickup. That way I think you can do that as a finance?

No on the part I've highlighted in bold. I tried to do this last year unsuccessfully though not for a trade in or finance but to use gift vouchers. I ordered purple, silver and gold colours and had used the vouchers against the purple which I didn't love as much as I thought I would. One I had decided against and asked to return all and immediately repurchase the gold using the refunded gift vouchers. They said that I couldn't do that and any returned phones do not immediately go back into stock. It was crazy annoying as it meant I have £180 of vouchers which I had factored into paying for the phone and no other real purpose to use. Though not long after I used it towards Airpods Pro and love them so happy outcome in the end but I was irked by the comment from the guy in store that no doubt I would find a use for them.

If you can only choose one function for the Action button, if I change it to anything but Mute, how else do you mute the phone?

Apologies if this is a really silly question!

They've said mute will be in the control centre if you change the action button's function.

You can still use it as silent button if you press and hold but if you just press it will trigger the assigned action.
That was my take from Keynote. Correct me if wrong.

If you trade-in your old phone when buying through Apple, how long do you have to send it to them? So I’m not without a phone. Ta

I can see myself trying Accessibility / Touch / Back Tap to set 'silent', and then changing it back after five minutes.

For whoever mentioned muting on Teams or Zoom much earlier in the thread; 'Mute' is already there in iOS16 - I assume this is different to ringer on/off, as in 'mute the microphone' not silence all the phone sounds like the mute hardware switch.
