Yes after almost an hour chatting with Apple support going round in circles, someone finally told me they are only accepting financing at the moment and you cannot use cards until tomorrow when it properly goes on pre-order.
I tried completing my preorder with three separate cards, my HSBC credit card. HSBC debit card and my Nationwide debit card. All three were declined. I do have a preorder setup with Apple Pay as the method of payment so I’m hoping that works okay tomorrow.

Hmm worrying, I'm HSBC, I just was assuming that any block could override in the app like I normally do for purchases that get flagged.

I pre-pre ordered a 15 Pro just now and had a gift card to use. I redeemed the code and it said -100 before I clicked save. However now when I go to the bag it's showing as full price and my apple balance is 0. Is this normal?

Hello, apologies if that has been answered in previous pages - if I want to receive my pre-order as soon as possible, should I choose “collect from store” or delivery? Historically which one has been faster?
That depends on:

Collection
  • How far from your nearest Apple Store you live
  • What time you're able to secure a collection window at that store (unpredictable)

vs

Delivery
  • Which courier delivers to you (DHL/DPD in recent years)
  • Where on their usual drop route you are

To be honest, it's going to be very difficult to say which one will be faster. If you want it on 22nd and can wait until the end of the day, I'd suggest home delivery.

Either way you need to be quick on it at 1pm tomorrow, otherwise all of the above is irrelevant!

I had the same with Lloyds Bank. I’d already ordered an ultra two and a case for my pro max but I couldn’t do a pre-order as I kept getting a message saying payment declined by card issuer. So I called Lloyds bank fraud department and they could see the attempted transaction and whilst I was on the phone I tried it again and it went straight through. It had just gone passed midnight, so it may have then approved because it was the next day

When I tried it did the normal thing for extra security verification. It gave me the option of either verifying through my HSBC app or request a six digit verification number by text to enter as well as my email. I tried the number and email option for both my credit and debit cards and made sure I was entering the information correctly but they still got declined. I can’t think of any reason why. Hopefully the Apple Pay will work okay.

I might call the HSBC fraud department about it and see if I can get it resolved. I’m just wondering if this is also going to affect my Apple Pay tomorrow. I don’t mind using Apple Pay as long as it goes through. It is worrying though.

Yep I would do that if you are using Apple Pay to make sure

My pre-pre has apparently gone through, but now I’m worried because I had to “work around” it by using the Apple website rather than the app. Don’t want my card to start being declined as I watch the shipping date slip into November…

Apologies if this has previously been asked...anyone know if the EZ screen protector for 14pro will fit on the 15pro?

Blue fine woven has arrived. Originally said Monday, then tomorrow. So don’t trust the delivery time. Looks nice. I’ve tried to take it in natural daylight, but not sure how long it will stay clean. Normally after the gym, I like to give my cover a wipe down. Don’t think this material will really allow me to do that
That's a lot darker than I imagined!

I just gave Lloyds a ring to let them know I'm making a large transaction tomorrow on my credit card. They said they've made a note on my account of the amount. Not much else I can do to prevent it getting blocked is there?

I think it might depend. As I understand, they managed to shrink the size of the device slightly they said? Smaller bezels. Which would suggest a tight protector might struggle, but one that had a gap would be fine?

I’ve also done this using a Monzo card. Although it doesn’t appear in the Apple Store app, you can click “View your saved iPhone” in the confirmation email, and it should open in the Apple Store app.

Thanks. What are the average file sizes at the different qualities roughly?
IMG_4716.jpeg

For example in 12MP ProRAW this is 22mb.

A shot @ 48MP ProRAW (garden) comes in at 99mb (1x) - which is too big to upload to this forum 😂

This is what iOS 17 is saying for estimated file sizes when using the options available

Actually, just to make absolutely sure, I have just called Lloyds bank as well and they say they can see no reason why the transaction will be blocked tomorrow so I shall put my trust in them 🙂

So I decided to call HSBC. They said it was an issue with additional security verification process. The agent I spoke to took it off temporarily and asked me to try again and it went through. I should be good to go tomorrow as it looks like my credit card authorisation has gone through.
