Glad to see everyone is retaining Sim Card trays minus one. The eSim hype seems dead and buried. Price remains the same which is nice. I'll be trading in my US model of the 15 Pro Max @ Apple for £570 and dropping down to the 16 Pro (not liked the PM), so £429 to pay instore.

Just need to decide if I want the Desert Titanium or White/Silver which I'm leaning towards.

Desert Titanium doesn’t look so far different from the gold on my 13 Pro, but reckon it will be better on real life.

I am coming from the X and the plan was to wait for the 16 so the 15 gets a little cheaper. Looking at 256 GB models, and it’s 799 for the 15 and only 899 for the 16. I guess I am being sucked into the newest model by their pricing strategy. Only issue is, 15 comes in way nicer colours, so I buy my phone like a model T Ford.

If changing from an iPhone 12 to a 16 Pro, do I need to get a different sim from my network supplier? Do I just ask them for an e-sim?

I’ve never done an Apple in-store trade in as I usually sell it online and send it off after I upgrade, but I’m travelling on 21st so figured I would collect the 16pm and trade in my 14pm at the same time.

Potentially a stupid question, but does it mean I have to go in with my current phone wiped and ready to handover and then install my backup from the cloud?

If so, how do I show them my pick up confirmation etc. or do they just take my word for it?

Going from a Gold 14 PM to Desert Titanium 16 PM, had 3 gold iPhones in succession so there was only ever going to be one colour for me, also I find all the other colours pretty boring personally but that’s just me. Looking forward to the storage upgrade as my 14 PM is pretty close to full

Torn between white and natural titanium, colours are a bit underwhelming and I’ll miss the 14 pro purple but I need more space.

I'm gonna go white titanium 16 PM this year then just keep it for a few years. I would have gone with the 16 plus and saved myself £300 but not sure how much I'd feel the downgrade from a pro to a standard, plus quite fancy the larger screen.

When can we order again? What time friday?

In the words of Apple…iPhone 15 pro is the best phone ever. But the camera button makes the 16 pro the best phone ever. Black with 512gb same as last year or so I go for 1tb

How do you do AI on 8 GB RAM? Let alone now what about in the future?

No expert, but after reading some of their research most of which is way too technical, the Apple Foundation Model (AFM) is highly optimized at every stage and uses a set of adapters to perform different tasks, loading them and presumably unloading them when the user has moved on to something else "The adapter models can be dynamically loaded, temporarily cached in memory, and swapped — giving our foundation model the ability to specialize itself on the fly for the task at hand while efficiently managing memory and guaranteeing the operating system's responsiveness". Apple says AFM stacks up well and outperforms larger models while being highly efficient.

16 Pro for me. Would be happy with white, natural titanium or black this year, so will be at the mercy of whatever is available at the time. Kinda torn on the storage capacity, as I'm now on 440GB out of 512GB but will likely keep this device for another 2 years.

Having skipped the 15 Pro Max, the new material, camera upgrades etc will feel pretty fresh to me. The drop down in physical size will also be a nice change, as I've gone for Plus/Max phones since the 7 for the better spec cameras etc.

Much prefer e-sim and how easier it is to move form one iPhone to another. iPhones get more and more advanced and yet we still want to stick little bits of plastic in a tray to get it to work. Why?

I'm not really wowed by the announcement, to say the least. No compelling reasons to upgrade from my 15PM.

I'm still on Watch 8, but am reluctant to upgrade until I see some evidence of the scratch proofing on the Jet black 10.

preorders will be from 1pm Friday, I am going direct through Apple this year, always bought on launch day but from a network/third party
