ESR Gear screen protectors fitting isn't that great. Gonna return and try the Torras ones
I had ordered and got both the ESR Armorite and Torras glass screen protectors and debating which one to use and which one to return. I can’t remember whether I have the ESR Armorite or Torras on my 15 Pro Max. I might just go with the Torras.

When do apple usually add AppleCare when bought with the device, to new devices? My 16 is still not registering me buying AC, and if I try to buy it, it says I already have it. Worried in case I am in some sort of limbo moment and my phone breaks before it is registered properly. Thanks

I got my certificate of coverage last night and it shows in settings that it's covered. Download the Apple Support app and chat through there.

So an iPhone-less day for me today after EE’s colossal cock up!

My pre-order for 16PM placed on Friday last week didn’t get processed because of a backlog as they said “it’s a busy order period”. Almost as if we don’t do this every year? They offered to re-order for me but it would be between 21-28 days for delivery with no solution. They also couldn’t say which stores had stock. Had to give up as I couldn’t sit on the phone forever as I was on break at work. No offer of compensation from their “guide” in Hull so I gave up and went back to work.

Fast forward to this afternoon, I called EE again and spoke to a helpful chap from Scotland who said there was an issue and it has affected a large number of people. Some devices are available but 16PM was going to be a wait. Looked into some other options and looking like I’m now going for a 16P in Natural Titanium, having bagged myself a 30% discount (which I didn’t even need to ask for) based on the problem with the previous order, delivered to my local EE store tomorrow (with DPD notification already sent!) and £30 bill credit as they couldn’t send the delivery to my house because of a system glitch.

So not the phone I originally wanted, and a day late to the party (first time in years… gutted) but tomorrow I will finally have a new iPhone! If anyone has had issues with EE I will genuinely recommend trying to contact them again as some guides are clearly much better help and I’m still gobsmacked I didn’t have to even try my luck to get a deal!

Hope everyone else’s launch day experience was a lot better than mine 🤣

Can anyone recommend a decent black leather case similar to the ones apple used to do for the iPhone 16 pro max? As I got my new iPhone today and I’m personally not a fan of silicone cases every tiny bit of lint getting attached to it.

iPhone Pro arrived an hour ago. :)

I collected my 16 Pro in store earlier today and after a few hours, my initial thoughts are;

Positives:

- More of the same Apple quality, a solid piece of well made hardware, minuscule changes but when something works well, why change it? - for now anyway.

Negatives:

- I can instantly see the new camera button is going to become mediocre like the action button has. I've taken a few pictures and found it more natural pressing the on screen cam button then fidgeting with the physical button. It's the same with zooming in and out - easier using the on screen options.

- I always use a case on my phone, I'm also right handed. The new camera button means cases have a cut out where my palm would normally rest. It makes holding the phone slightly less comfortable.

In other news .. no shiny new iPhone yet for me but I did get the series 10 watch and it’s gorgeous! … even though its only a tiny bit lighter it’s absolutely noticeable and it’s more flush to the wrist now which i love. Also notice the extra little bit of screen estate. Love it!

My between the 25th to the 30th delivery is now coming on Monday, 23rd.

Oh God... all the banking apps and ones that aren't straight forward to log you in when you use a new device, dreading that.

Anyone had any luck transferring an eSIM with o2 yet? Mine just refused to transfer iPhone 12 Pro to 16 pro.
No luck tried for hours my eSIM seems to be tied to my old iPhone refusing to transfer over request yourself a physical sim card with your number on it and change it back to eSIM.

Having upgraded from a 14 Pro, day one impressions of the new phone are good. Much lighter in the hand, so much less heft to it. Camera control is good so will be getting plenty of use, and the updated telephoto will get plenty of use on holiday. A small thing, but setting the Action button to open the Music app directly makes my iPod nostalgic self very happy indeed!

Transferred my physical SIM and set the new phone restoring from iCloud backup before leaving the Apple Store. Phone had restored enough to allow me to log in and start playing with settings, apps etc in the hour it took to drive home. Applecare+ Theft & Loss cover was already showing in General > AppleCare > my phone.

I've just had a look, youre right - that's very cool.

I have to use the Quad Lock cases as I use their stands in my car etc. I'm hoping the cut outs most other cases are doing is just lazy initial designs so they could have a product ready for launch date. Hopefully in a month or two more 3rd party cases will cover the camera button like Apple.
