No I bought an 8 plus as well for the torchlight feature so I can shine it at my face when I use face id on my x
What an anticlimactic day!
So after spending nearly the whole day waiting for my iPhone X from Apple. It failed to appear from UK Mail!
This is the first time this has happened in 9 years of owning an iPhone with a confirmed launch day delivery date. (Ordered at 8.05am)
UK mail says it will come on Monday instead! Who said Apple was 99.99% reliable? Must be somewhere to complain to Apple about this! (Free case will make me happy)

Mine failed to appear and UK Mail have said it will arrive on Monday. Not impress with UK Mail at all. Worst delivery service by a mile!

Thought that was Yodel, but all couriers and Royal Mail people are awful these days, if I had to pick, it would be DPD for the better tracking.
Heard horror stories from previous years about UK Mail and as soon as I found out I had them on Thursday I gulped. I Had DPD for the 6S plus and 7 plus. No problems what so ever. This company gives Apple a bad name.
Sorry to hear that. I’ve had mine since 08:30 and it’s incredible. Making my current miserable poor health slightly more bearable! Worth the wait. Enjoy your weekend.
Lucky of you to have the whole day with your new phone. Looks and sounds amazing. Hope I get mine soon. Micro Memory card arrived for my drone today so all was not lost. Nice set of lens there by the way.

Feeling so lucky as my IUP got bumped up from the 18th November yesterday afternoon and managed to book an 08:00 collection went to the Watford store for 07:30 there was a decent queue for walk-ins a few had queued overnight and about 6 people in front on me in the Reservations queue. They pulled 4 others to one side and I had been speaking to 2 guys in front of me who had been waiting out in the cold since 10pm and had managed to bag an 08:30 reservation from staff. They insisted I should be in front of them and told the Apple staff I should be in the little group ahead of them which was really nice of them. So they moved me over to this group of 5 I did not realise why ... then it came to 08:00 and all the staff lined up either side of the entrance in the store all clapping and cheering (very Apple) felt very special as we got to walk in first

IUP upgrade was a breeze compared to the 2 hours it took last year as Barclays servers couldn’t cope. Was in and out in 20 minutes screen protector applied (first one had a small fibre under it so that one was scraped and applied a new FOC). Did go back this afternoon as I rushed my choice of case went for Saddle Brown which I’ve had before which ages nicely but didn’t look quite right with the black screen surround so swapped it for the Aubergine leather one very nice indeed.
The phone is top notch very quality feel about it, came from a 7+ perfect size for me the Plus has always been a bit big for my hands and pockets. Just need Apple to release that liquid metal wallpaper as a live wallpaper they use on the new tv advert that would be very cool.
Need some more app updates to take full advantage of the new screen come on Tapatalk !!

Hi guys I was just wondering if you start fresh - can you still have your notes, contacts, photos, messages etc just not everything else? I want to start fresh redownloaded everything etc but not sure what im actually losing vs storing from a backup anyone know. If so how do you do it?
All should sync from iCloud. Messages might be hit and miss as syncing of those to iCloud is a new feature of iOS 11 and I’m not certain it’s been enabled, it appeared in one beta and then got removed again.
I’d recommend doing a manual backup to your computer using iTunes and then pull the backup folder out and keep it safe to one side. If you find you’re missing stuff you can restore back to it.
Messages in iCloud was to be part of iOS 11 but it hasn’t materialised yet. Had it been available I probably would have set up as new.
So at the moment you can restore your notes contacts and photos and have everything else fresh. Easy assuming you have them stored in iCloud/some other service.
Additional warranty covers accidental damage for 2 years with no excess fees - which makes it a much better offer than Apple Care + for anyone who needs it, personally I'm fine with their standard 2 year guarantee.

Me too.Hopefully I don't jinx myself, but im with you in terms of not needing to buy Apple Care. With every iPhone ive owned; 4,5,6 and from tomorrow X i will not have bought Apple Care and thankfully never needed to.
However i did contemplate it with the X because of how expensive it is but on second thoughts Apple Care+ seems like a rip off these days, higher up front cost plus paying an excess fee for repairs!
This was one of the reasons why I desperately wanted to secure a X with John Lewis and cancel my preorder with Apple because they offered a better guarantee and after care, but im still going to settle with JL standard 2 year guarantee and keep my fingers crossed

I doubt it. Their match price does not relate to special offers.
That’s what I did with my 6 and just with my 7+ and they use the website to get the price (based on condition, at least that’s what they did when I took mine in)
