Cheers. I’m hoping the north has had a similar influx but the lazy sods up here just haven’t logged it yet - ha

All the best mate, seriously this year has been much better than previous years for me and pre-orders! I should know, I’ve been pre-ordering since the 4S

mine is covent garden and astonishing as it is, I confirmed my iUP upgrade at around 13.30 on 'that' Friday! (it was as much to do with the fact that I didn't trust the reservation Id secured by 8.04 (it didn't appear right.... and it wasn't!)

Had my order for a IUP coming 1st Dec for X iPhone 256GB silver, available to collect tomorrow, via email tonight. Sounds good to me :)

Luck of the draw I guess! Last year was my worst to date having previously managed to secure units through carriers for launch day without too much issue.

iUP was my saving grace in the face of EE delays last year but has been far from brilliant this year.

Enjoy your phone mate, I won’t be long behind you I’m sure!

Would like some insight on these iUP orders coming to fruition.

Have all stores had a delivery and some are still on hand scanning stock hence some areas getting notifications?

People with Dec 9th dates getting phones before people with Dec 1st dates seems... crappy.

I can understand focusing on London as it’s a demand-heavy area but these are pre-orders, they’d have known exactly what dates they were going to satisfy at point of dispatch. Why leave those who’ve preordered in the north with nothing?

I can't figure out the pattern myself. Are you re-enrolling or taking out the plan fresh? If not, it seems completely random which sucks for those waiting.

Wow my wife’s White 256 IUP Upgrade was due in store on 2/12 (brought forward from 9/12).
Had a message at around 8.30pm to say it is ready to collect at Birmingham.
Happy days. 9.38 confirmation email.

To be honest I’m flabbergasted that my 27/10 pre-order, which was fraught with errors and took me 25 minutes to process, which subsequently led to a estimated delivery date of 2/12 is actually here AND 3 weeks early.

Good on Apple!

Not too sure about the Good on Apple part. It's not even been a fortnight since you pre-ordered yet your delivery date as been cut from 36 days to 14 days. Anyone with any experience in modern mass manufacture will be able to confirm they certainly didn't suddenly manufacture a **** load more phones. So what happened?

Lots of people cancelled? Scalping didn't work out, double/tripple/quadruple ordered and have cancelled the excess orders after getting one, decided they didn't want one, etc.......

It was all a BS marketing ploy? Make it look like supply was far far shorter then demand in order to ensure they could get them away, get the X off and running with a full head of steam, override the possible £1k barrier, etc.....

If lead times really are falling by a factor 50-60-70% across the board, IMO the last thing I would say is Apple deserve credit. I'm more curious and suspicious.

Cancelled my iUP reservation for 2/12 earlier this week thinking I'd be able to get one sooner, hopefully I haven't made a mistake!

Really hope Tesco Direct get stock in soon; with my 10% staff discount, trade-in price for my 8 Plus and hopefully £250 from Yorkshire Bank for switching accounts hopefully I won’t have to pay for the X!

iStockNow was showing 3 at Cheadle this afternoon so I called them to check and they didn't have any, must have been display devices. Again though, the fella on the phone reiterated about their 1000+ delivery tomorrow and recommended furiously refreshing the website all day. Like I haven't been all week! :p

Btw, thanks to this thread.
- You made us fix a lot of few things
- You've been the first users of iStockBot, our push service, working great, people love it.

So while we didn't bring a lot of X in our pockets for UK yet, thanks for your feedback, appreciated.
We've been made by / with MacRumors users, and you just added a nice piece this year.

Exactly, don’t even know why there is a shortage of supply for them or even why is there short supply in London

Nice
I think you will get what you want today just keep an eye on JL website:) Good luck.

Had my 8 replaced for a second time tonight. Shouldn’t really happen when you’ve shelled out £700 for a phone but I love Apple CS. All sorted. Exchanged for a new one and because this is the second time I’ve had to have it replaced they gave me a free belkin screen protector and a case of my choice from their case display. You can not beat Apple customer service.

Had a play with the X too absolutely gorgeous phone. I’m genuinely happy with my 8 though. But I do look forward to having a phone like the X in future.
