What would you do?

EE has offered me the following deal, as I get 20% off via employee portal:

iPhone XS Max 256GB any colour no upfront
£70 PM 100GB Max Plan
This works out at £17.95 per month for 100GB Max once the phone price is deducted

or

iPhone XS Max 512GB any colour no upfront
£78 PM 100GB Max Plan
This works out at £17.62 per month for 100GB Max once the phone price is deducted

This includes the 20% off.

I have an order for an outright purchase.
Anyone?

Thanks

If I was good with keeping the phone 2 years then I’d take that. Cheaper than my simo deal and IUP (granted I get applecare too). I have £26 for 25gb max plan. Never use that much data so not fussed for more though.

Me too, but my other half will get this phone next year.

And you’ll buy outright in 2019? Won’t you then have a year of this still left to pay as well as finding another phone?

Or just get her to buy it for you

Yes, I'd buy the 2019 outright.

He will upgrade his X to the XS Max I have

The way I'm looking at it is I'll be paying £17-18 for 100GB of data. The phone would need to be purchased one way or another...

Just want to check my logic.

Works for me! If your partner was going to upgrade next year anyway, as you say, he gets your Xs, and the money saved from that upgrade goes towards your upgrade/purchase next year

Thanks buddy - I will go ahead and do that. Sounds better financially. They also waived the £100 handset cost too.

Anyone know how long you need to allow for delivery to Music Magpie? The quote is only valid so long as they receive the item within the 14 days/ Royal Mail guidance says tracked 48 is usually 2-3 business days - anyone got experience with MM of whether that holds true?

My quote is now valid until Monday 1st October - so if I send off on Monday, hopefully will be enough time.
Ot you could just pay for Royal Mail Special Delivery yourself and be certain its there next day. Might be better than being hit by a reduced price if it gets there late.

Same offer that I got, although mine is £70.40 per month and £10 up front for the 256GB XS.

Those of you who ordered through EE, check your bank, as EE have been taking 2 x the up front cost as they've had problems with their payment system.

Has anybody ordered upgrade through O2? Any ideas on delivery dates?
Yes, scheduled for Friday delivery

I use Music Magpie every year for all my devices - never had a problem. Locked in at £691 for my phone, unfortunately put iPad Pro in the same basket so need to make decision whether to lose £80 on price of ipad or sell early.
Maybe get a new quote and add code tech10 for 10% more ?

Shame the silicone cases are sealed and can't try them on to see if I prefer the feel over leather. Oh well!
You would be able to return it to Apple if you dont like it

Yep, same deal, I didn't include the .40p

I went for the 512gb @£78 per month and 100GB - they waved the £100 upfront cost and reduced my early upgrade fee of £532 to £54. They didn't take my discount code so hopefully, I can get them to apply it and generate another 20% off - double it though.

Those of you getting 2 year phone contracts, what are you going to do next September, with a new iPhone coming out?

That’s a big buyout if you want the new model...
