I pre-ordered for store collection with the intention of going on to iPhone Payments, though it transpires I've actually ordered/paid in full so will have to switch over in the morning.

If you’ve paid in full then it will held for around 21-28 days I believe.

It’s better this way as you can refund it there and then after pickup and then switch to the iUp programme.

Working from home... but I'm unsure how much work I'll get done. I'll probably just "work" in the kitchen which looks up the driveway to ensure I don't miss the delivery driver!

Do you have any links to this information? I just realised my 25gb max plan sim only is up in 2 weeks, and I only just realised they no longer do sim only max plans. If I could upgrade to one as an existing customer that would be good

EE agent told me that if you are on a Max Plan, you can upgrade to a Max Plan (SIMO/Phone contract).

Lots of photos on Google of flaked/chipped examples. A couple of threads on this forum, too.

I had a slate black iPhone 5 several years ago which was chipped right out of the box from new. I had to go through 8x boxed units at the Apple store before they could find me one that wasn't chipped! Ever since then, I've avoided the painted/non-anodised colours like the plague.

I remember the fiasco of the iPhone 5 quality issues! You got really unlucky, I went through 3 iPhone 5's on the second batch before I found a non-chipped one.

However, since then Apple ramped up their quality control on the paint with non-anodised colours. My jet black 7 Plus had no issues & a friend's space grey X still looks new a year later.

You do still have to be more careful with space greys than with silver.

My space grey XS Max will be pampered as I don't have AppleCare either!

Yes, they don't seem to want to advertise them online even if you are on a max plan so you have to know they exist or hope an agent will mention it when you call and ask for a PAC to try and get a better deal.

Does anyone know what happens if I miss my pick up appointment at the Apple Store for the Upgrade Programme? Will it just be cancelled or can the phone still be picked up later?

They'll hold it until close of business and then it is released back into the reservation stock.
